mrterceira
Do guys recommend any places to stay at in Rouyn-Noranda. Anything trail side, close to some good food and maybe some night life.
iceman
You got a few choices.... Everything is a little ride into town to get to. Hotel Alpin (819) 762-0991 nice enough for sure sled right outside your door. Nice restaurant for dinner, no real breakfast(last season) Maybe they change that, but they just had Continental breakfast(coffee, juice, muffins, toast cereal etc) On the other side of town Near each other Best Western 819-762-3545 never stayed at this one. Hotel Gouverneur (819) 762-2341 also near the best western. Little bit tougher to find but nice with good restaurant in it. Breafast and dinner. Alpin is a short Taxi ride to "nightlife" if its what I think you are meaning. Edited December 12, 2013 by iceman
Mid Range
I think the alpin has been renamed Quality Inn http://www.qualityinn.com/hotel-rouynnoranda-canada-CNA17?listpos=1 Anyhow....stayed there a few times......Canadian tire gas station across the street. O'toole restaurant pub next to the place (closed on sunday).

14 snow
agree on Motel Alpin, likely the easiest to get too depending on where you are coming and going from. I have stayed there a number of times and never had a bad experience.

iceman
The Alpin is not right on trail. Rouyn-Noranda has a trail that basically circles the city and has feeders off that to the different things there. It is not far off the TQ trail but not right on it. sled head ed
Thanks Iceman, never been to quebec trails before. I'm guessing the Alpin feeder trail would be marked?Where could I get a good detailed trail map of the area?
iceman
Try contacing here for Map or ask hotel to send to you. http://www.abitibi-temiscamingue-tourism.org/snowmobile/trails-condition/ Signs should point you in.
