markusvt
Thursday January 2, 2014 It was cold, -16F in the AM, and never really warming up all day. We were waiting for more guys to show for a 3 day loop on Friday, so we headed off for a nice 1 day loop. We took the 23-351-302-3-23 into St-Raymond, (southern leg), it was 100 miles. Lunch and gas at the Rouqemont, awesome! It was all really, really nice. Groomed right from the hotel Escapade. A few small sign issues, but not bad really. Very light traffic for sure. On the way back we did the 73-353-23 and back, (northern leg) in for 85 miles, again all awesome smooth. The 353 was awesome, and even less sleds on the way back! We got to hang with Iceman later in the day and share some great stories! Edited January 7, 2014 by markusvt

Greg du Vermont
The 2014 SledMagazine.com ElTigre 6000 ES looked mean and ran great. A really interesting exhaust sound which is definitely magic to the ear and it appeared to have plenty of giddy up and go. Out test pilot Philippe Soucy remarked that he thought the production model was slightly tamer than the test models we trialed in Montana last March. Phil likes to stand and at the end of the very cold day we rode together it showed. He ran the Fox shocks very stiff in my opinion. Our friend Phil is more of an extreme, shorter distance kinda guy and would need to make a few adjustments to more comfortably accommodate the rigors of longer mileage rides. After joining us, I think that he had a greater respect for some (as he put it) "crazy old men". Phil is the guy that ran the Water cross and Mountain cross events that I attended and wrote about on SM.com. After he left our Vermont group he joined the promoter of the upcoming Louisville Sno X event for a little track time. I bet the stiffer pressure settings were more conducive to that type of terrain. Check for Phil's 2014 ElTigre reports throughout the season.
markusvt
Yes, it did sound mean and seemed to have plenty of acceleration. It was still in break in mode and used about 20% more fuel than the Ski-Doo's, same as the Polaris. It really looks like a nice package!!
