quebec bob
Definately not a good business decision, With all the belt and clutching issues you would think they would be doing everything they possibly can to promote their brand and mend the wounds, hiding will not make it better, how are they going to get spring orders if they are a no show. They have a lot of die hard fans who will be disappointed, when you go to the show you look at everyones iron no matter what you currently ride.I bet they change their mind on this one. poltodoo
Arctic cat does not need to go. Just look at the Yamahas its the same thing only better, and cat still makes money if you buy one. and the green underwear guys will still by the cat (and alot of belts) any way. they can let Yamaha do all the selling and expense. grumpysanta
my take on this is the vipers use 1 motor for all models and A.C uses atleast 4 motors to make diff. models . big costs there . yamaha has the better idea . and maybe they are not there because YAMAHA IS TAKING OVER CONTROL OF A.C and just have to hand out phamplets for those sleds along with the vipers . YAMAHA only uses 3 motors for the whole line up 4 / 3 / 2 cyl four strokes
quebec bob
Business wise snowmobiles are a tiny part of Yamaha, probably 1% on their balance sheet, no doubt they are the strongest company finacially, taking over AC....who knows...but for sure they have way more to offer AC than AC has to offer them. I know the best part of the Viper is the engine and clutching .I am sure Yamaha will help AC with all their fit, finish, and Quality controll issues. Then the big question is why strengthen you competitor? Maybe Yamaha has something more going on than we know.
