RoadRunner
Trails today were great from Jackman to riv du loop. The last 5 miles to the border on us side were rough and low snow cover until st Zachary on 545 but very passable. After that it is great going all the way. Lots of sled traffic today. NSHM
Hey RR, Are those auxiliary lights on the front of the skidoos? NSHM
mcstar
Hey RR, Are those auxiliary lights on the front of the skidoos? NSHM I see 2 of the sleds have them so I'm thinking front guy has green and the last guy has red ?
timbo
Several years ago a company in NY (I believe) made lights that mounted on the hood. We bought them at the Big East show. They were about the size of a pack of cigarettes and were hardwired. Were led and had three functions. All Green. All Red, and Flashing Yellow. We tried them for a couple of years........and had durability problems. They were a great concept, as the lead sled showed red, and the sweep had a green light showing......all clear. Sure beat passing a long line of oncoming sleds and trying to "count how many fingers" the guys with mittens were holding up....lol. timbo
actionjack
I believe Ridelite is still around. Good idea. I think those are just big LEDs for utility. Like the rubbermaid tote too!
schooter
Yes You can buy them on line
182ray
I would say the lights you see in the pictures are auxiliary head lights
RoadRunner
Hey RR, Are those auxiliary lights on the front of the skidoos? NSHM Yes it is a 10" Rigid led spot and flood combo does a nice job drowns out the headlight! RR
NJSkidoo
Can you take comparative pics with and without on and post whenever you have the chance? I'm interested in it as well.
NSHM
Can approaching traffic still see anything with them on? Are they rollover proof ?(Some other members may be curious) You might be mistaken for a groomer and will have to start towing a drag. LOL Think Snow!! RoadRunner
Nshm, you can hook the light into your hi beam switch or turn off as you approach other sleds as the light is bright, Don't think the light is rollover proof, hope not to have to report back on that question lol, we will let other members experiment with that test! schooter
RR Make sure you are the first one in your pack Otherwise you will blind the guy in front of you with that search light 😀
gkw
Rode from Jackman to Montmagny today. Great for 10 miles out of Jackman and then the trail appears to be UNGROOMED all the way to the border. Excellent over the border until you get closer to Beauceville, where they don't have any extra snow for sure. Very rideable and when you get 5 miles east of 55 and 75, the trails are awesome.
