We rode from Edmundston NB to Amqui day one. Rock hard conditions to start but improved with elevation and were great near Amqui. Fields near Matane have low snow cover as seen in my photo . Headed to Mont St Pierre on mostly good trails and saw basically no sleds other than a few locals. We were the only people at MSP. Pretty hard to run a hotel in the Gaspe in the winter with no sledders!!! Oh yeah had a new issue on this trip. The power went off at supper time and did not come back on!!!! Power in the main building but our rooms were black. We dug out the candles and had a beer! LOL

Next day we rode to Murdochville and took the trail to La Cache. A 3km section is plowed and rocked bad!!! Not groomed but good riding the balance. Had a sled go down in there and by a streak of luck the president of the local club came along and took him to Murdochville and even got him a ride to Point a la Croix!!! Going down the 595 was awesome and we saw a family of 4 bobcats very cool!!!! Going to PALC you will have some very bad sections near Carleton -Nouvelle read bare ground!!!

Next 2 days in NB getting back to Edmundston. Overall had a great trip with lots of laughs and some great riding. 1566 km or 973 miles.

Andy

Nice report Andy. Sounds like a good time with (mostly) good conditions.

No one else out riding is getting to be a concerning theme. We saw many Quebec clubhouses closed during mid-week and hours reduced on weekends. We all know it is an expensive sport but now exchange rate is up a bit and gas prices are closer to reasonable. I know our Vermont Snowmobile Association is reporting a drop of almost 50% in members since 2002. (42000 then; -> 23000 now). Is it dropping off in Quebec too? Hopefully there are enough of us left to support and keep the Quebec motels, restaurants, gas stations, and dealerships open.

Good run Andy, sorry to hear the conditions are a little thin but that's to be expected of this years winter unless you head to Radisson. Lol

What happen to your buddys sled?
