After a great time at the gathering Saturday evening we left Amqui sun morning for Grand Valee

Took local orange trails to TQ 5 by matane. Trails all great little thin by matane.

TQ 5 to grand Valee was absolutely stellar! Passed maybe 10 sleds all day.

Presently at hotel Grand Valee, great place with an exceptional dinner.

Played hop scotch all day with Eddie ski doo, Dave, Timbo, Thad and pol todoo who are also here at the hotel. 260 miles for the day, 214 miles on Saturday from RDL to Amqui

It was great meeting everyone at the gathering , lotta laughs and good stories.

Day 3

Woke up to crystal blue skies about 8 degrees. After huge breakfast saddled up and took TQ5 down towards Gaspe, again 5 in beautiful shape. More hardpacked down in elevation but no shortage of snow. Lunch in Grand Rivere. then up the 597 to Murdochville, some small stutter bumps in the curves but still a solid 8. Got to the copper hotel and see Timbo and Thad's sleds there. Timbo had to hit the polaris dealer in Frigate to get a bracket welded. Eddie and clan should up shortly after us

Today we split up, we are headed to cross point and into New Brunswick.

216 miles for the day

Day4

Again woke up to clear skies 5degrees, breakfast with the gang then off on the local towards la Cache.

Lotta rollers all the way. Said goodbyes to Eddie skidoo Dave and Curtis as they headed north on the 595. We headed south. Skipped fuel at la cache, pulled into new Richmond fueled up, lunch off to cross point .

TQ 5 in great shape some of the fields where wind blown bare but passable, alittle elevation great again.

Got to Cross point, found the duty free, called for the flat bed, 20 minutes later off to NB.

Now at the quality inn in camblton NB . Snowing hard , life is good !

216 miles

Jim glad you made it safe across the river. Timbo limped safely into Amiqu I and after it started snowing sideways we ducked into a great gite de la tour Eaffel rather than push on to Amiqui. Great hosts sleds in barn see what mother nature has for us in the morning

No ice crossing that we know of. Radar tried to find a way down to the river all dead ends , he did sniff out the duty free for some cheap beer. The look on his face when he got back with his stash and realized he bought 8 oz cans instead of 12oz

Was priceless! LOL

Left Mont St Pierre for Gaspe a bit of a late start. We got to Gaspe and it was only 3 pm so we had a chat with Dawne and she thought she could push on so we headed to Murdochville. Arrived at dusk and had dinner. Woke up to snow! We are heading to La Cashe and then decide where to go next.

It's been a flawless trip. No traffic. Perfect trails. It's like we are following the groomer!

Confusing to find the river crossing, on un - marked back streets. But follow sled tracks (if any) to the gas station across the street from the SAQ. Cross street into + through SAQ parking lot which has 1-2 other stores. 20-30 yrds you are at a little park-beach on the river. South side of the bridge, thats where you jump on to cross it . Locals use a little trail down river some where.

I have looked at a lot of pictures of Gaspe riding areas that have been posted and the trails look awesome. To me it looks like the trails are wider and in a lot of cases straighter than most trails I tend to ride when I visit Canada. I mostly ride around Lanaudiere ( St Donat, St Zenon, SMDS) Mostly wooded trails to get where you want to get. Lots of twists and turns which tend to limit my speed obviously. I am always amazed when I see people post that they did 200 plus miles a day. To do 200 plus miles on mostly twistys would be a work out, but on more open trails would be like cruising I would think. I have ridden the southern part of Lanaudiere however through fields where the riding was much more open and you could really open it up and cover some ground. I guess what I am asking is are the Gaspe trails more wide open or mountainous and twisty?

Was there last March and took the La Cache trail from Murdockville and couldn't see squat, snowing like heck and very low ceiling, we did get to see some moose in the La Cache trail. Have to go back again.

Day5

First time riding in New Brunswick, about 4" fresh snow overnight. 1 hour time change here, we are sticking with QC time.

Take the 17 to see if we can pick up trail pass at clubhouse, no one home, oh well! Not sure where we are headed but as we head south and west the snow really picks up, snowed hard the whole day easily 12" up in elevation with very limited visibility.

No staking here on the trails, at times couldn't tell where the trail went especially in some of the clear cuts. Very slow going, at times you had to walk to feel where the groomer went, then continue on. Missing the packed trail would not be an option with the amount of snow there. Had lunch at a outfitter and Are in saint Quentin tonight. Headed towards Edmundston and back in QC tomorrow

206 well earned miles today breaking trail the majority of the time.

If you guys are in Saint Quentin that means you've already passed the trail going to Moose Valley (nice forest road trail and fast). The trail out of Saint Quentin remains a rail bed all the way to Ste.Anne de Madawaska where you'll head north on #12 up to Edmonston where you'll pick up another rail bed trail leading you into RDL should you go the full length, once in Quebec you'll be riding alongside a huge lake, Lake Temiscouata be careful in that area, there is a lot of stops road crossing and driveways.

Wish I was out there with you guys

Ride'm like ya stole'm
