Magnus
Cold weather in the forecast but will it help when there's already a decent layer of snow insulating the ground?
Pipeman
Doesn't anybody from the club check the swampy areas for ice thickness before a groomer drives over them ? I suppose it's hard though probably some areas they didnt even know there was water underneath. What a mess hopefully nobody was hurt Edited January 3, 2016 by Pipeman

I suppose it's hard though probably some areas they didnt even know there was water underneath. What a mess hopefully nobody was hurt In our area, the club groomers are purposely running though the swampy areas and water holes with out the drags to expose the water so it will freeze. They have been doing it for a couple of days in anticipation of -25C temps tonight. Similar messy results as theses pics but as the trails are closed to traffic, they are not fishing sleds out.
