timberman
Thanks QA. Updates should start Thursday evening. They're experienced old dogs. Should be putting up timely information real sledders are interested in.

timberman
Thanks for the responses, boys. Dick and Sam have now been joined by Putt-Putt, so there will now be three sledders heading out from Auberge Canadienne on Friday morning - destination Friday night still not determined. They have booked for Saturday night at Camps Ronoda (campsronoda.com) in Remigny. This looks like an ideal location just a few kilometres off TQ 83 - leaves about 150 kilometres Sunday morning to ride back down TQ 83 to the truck in Temiscamingue, load up and get out of Dodge in good time (actually it's a Toyota ar ar ar ar). Maggie from Camps Ronoda was very helpful on the phone. Their rates are $89/person/night, plus tax for the classic sledder's special (supper, accommodation, breakfast). The boys will be put up in a 3-bedroom cabin. This is a new layover spot for the boys, so we'll see how it pans out.

timberman
And then there were 4!! Just been advised that Dick, Sam and Putt-Putt are being joined by Moan. Further inquiry reveals that the cabin for Saturday night at Camp Ronoda has at least 4 beds. Sighs of relief from all team members.
timberman
Putt-Putt and Sam are rolling in the truck. Just through Bancroft. Roads are greasy, like Sam's hair.

timberman
The team has apparently arrived in Val d'Or after 355 km. trails were generally awesome with potential to get better. About 8" new snow in the area - some has been groomed, but it is still a bit loose on top. Very little traffic. They saw 6 groomers on the trails. Lunch in Belleterre. Trail 306 north of Rapides Sept was particularly awesome. Also, TQ63 north out of Temiscamingue was a racetrack this morning but drifts in open areas would keep the boys alert. Some photos to follow. timberman
No trail photos today - camera quit in the cold. The team is now at the Forestel, making new friends and dispensing wisdom, often without request. Putt-Putt had an upside down incident in the trail, but no damage other than feelings of rejection. Wrong Turn Dick kept his perfect record alive. Moan showing keen knowledge of statistics and averages. Sam staying Buddha-like quiet. Trailblazer
Thanks Tomberman for your Abitabi reports, that has got to be my favorite region in Quebec outside of the Gaspe of course for its outstanding scenery. The trails in Abitabi are real highways a true test of endurance, humane and machine!!!
Jackstraw
That's some funny chit right there! Almost as funny as Eric passing 2 slowpokes yesterday and having the trail make a 90 degree turn to the right 50 yards later LOL! Still laughing about it
