Le Chenail du Nord

50 Miles north of Forestville is an awesome Poirevoir Lodge. We had visited here in December and decided to come back for an overnight. Excellent visit would be the word for this. The trail is groomed 12 feet wide all the way up a gorgeous river valley. Benoit and Nadine are perfect hosts and provided great food and hospitality. So if you are looking for a visit to Poirevoire in The Cote Nord region, way out in the bush, but still with easy access on a groomed trail, this would be an excellent choice. You will not be disappointed. RR

Great fun today in the Forestville area , in the northern zone we found more powder than we have all year. And a very nice groomed trail down the valley from Poirevouire Chenail du Nord. A nice area that is under utilized for sledding adventures! RR

RR is there any signage indicating which trail to use to go to this Chenail du Nord? Thanks

Yes iceman they do have signs out, also if you look on fcmq map, it's the orange trail that extends from due north from the Forestville loop trail.

As Gt says it is 50 km from where you turn off the loop trail but groomed all the way, a very scenic run

Yes there is a sign for it when you make the "loop" north out of Forestville the sign is just past the midway point if memory serves me.

I see several beat me to it I should have read all replies before responding, anyhow you have your answers now.

You need some serious paddles on your track to get through deep powder like that, must get stuck often too.

You guys really venture far off the beaten path

Trailblazer. We played in that powder trying to get through to another road system , but we were all running out of gas fast, and not the kind you put in your tank. We got tired lol!! But it was fun! And we finally did find a way thru!

Checked into the Manoir Richilieu tonight for rest and relaxation lol!!

A friend took a picture of a "Rupp" trailside with a broken rear axle. Then went into a dealer in Alma and there was a sled on the floor missing a rear axle. Coincidence???

Phil , that was our doing, not a coincidence lol, we towed the Rupp 15 miles into that gas station in St Monique he gave us a ride to the Sports DRC in Alma, they ripped the rear axle out of the Summit and had the "Rupp" going by 9 am the next morning. You cant beat service like that! Especially for an off brand sled like... Rupp lol
