Looking for recent trail conditions, places to stay just beyond Relais 22 and distances. Anyone know how far to the new place on Gouin Resevoir from Relais 22? revct1 Posted February 18, 2016 Report Share Posted February 18, 2016 Welcome to QuebecRider fharrison. Like JackStraw says I'm sure you can get your passes at one or the other. You could call or e-mail Roquemont just to make sure. 23 is what we take. Check out the new bridge being installed over the river about a mile from the Roquemont. Give us an update on it if you can. Via 23, L'Etape will be 95 miles. If you skip L'Etape, Relais Mt Apica is 135 miles if I remember correctly. If you haven't been up here, both have food and gas. Jonquiere is about 100 miles from L'Etape depending on which trail you take once you get up near the Lac St Jean area. Try not to ride 23 on a Sunday. On 2/13 we came down 355 to 73 but then went North. The 355 was groomed to perfection, a bit of logging activing just after Lac Bouchette but it was short. 355 is a beautiful ride. There is also a street gas station just after Lac Bouchette fill up there and / or Lac Edwardo there is also street gas in Lac Edwardo. Go to South end of lake follow blue Gite signs to road and just past train station is a little store and fuel, no more than a few hundred yards. There has been talk of a reroute on 355 down LT2 but when we passed, 355 was open to 73 and block on 73 South was pushed to the side. Wednesday after rain....downpours...was icy for forst 20 km or so...sleds were hot.... After that 23 was good all the eay to letape ....was awesome from letape to mt apacia.....and wwent to shit from there to herbertville.....groomer was headed south on 23... You'll be great, as long as you're not riding with Scorpion Bowl, who has pretty bad luck with timing the grooming on that run, check here and light up the top right corner for Services & Surfacage: http://fcmq.viaexplora.com/carte-motoneige/index.html And if you have time, and since it's not going to be a weekend, stay on the 355/351 south of LaTuque and ride down the legendary "pipeline", then do 23/353/23 back into the Roquemont. Top off in in Lac Edouard then it's a 100 miles and the trail runs right thru a gas station in Lac aux Sables. Polarboyz Posted February 22, 2016 Author Report Share Posted February 22, 2016 Rode out of Roquemont on Sunday. Took 23 South to 73 North. 85 miles of smiles to La Tuque. From La Tuque to Relais 22 not so many smiles on that 90 mile section. Tuesday morning brought -25 temps and many sleds had a hard time starting. From Relais 22 it was all smiles for 125 miles on 83 West, even going in to Barrage Gouin. What a great place to stop for the night! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
