2016-2017 Shawingan Snow Reports

Recommended Posts

1 Dec.  snow/rain mix +3C

hey Bonjour......

while many other areas have had some real snow here it has been just a bit. Literally a few light dustings and they did not last.

Today we woke up to almost an 1" of snow which is now mixed with rain.

Many other regions have had much more snow.

Right now snow is not what we really need. We need the cold to set in and stay to freeze things up.

So......"Let it Freeze, then Let it Snow". Need the ice and frozen ground before snow.

Standing By. Stay Tuned.

Trying to plan a trip to Shawinigan but not sure what dates to pick? First week of Feb or last week into first week of March. Any suggestions?? I know no one has that magic crystal ball but willing to go off previous years info. Thanks in advance

You can't go wrong with either pick usually. I will say that you never know. While usually very sweet by first week in Feb, every year is different. March may be warmer for sure.

Flip a coin.

+2c snow flurries on and off. Some pretty good squalls here and there.

For a good freeze up of the river and all the swamps around Shawinigan, this looks like the perfect forecast. Hope its not just a wishcast.

Are you asking about now today or years back?

I was there last year. There is a micro brew house right across the street.

I was thinking of the restaurant across the street from the Devils Hole, right on the corner, closer to the hotel.

Hotel Gouvernor now has a Restaurant Pacini. Italian...pasta, pizza etc. not bad at all.

That's the one. We went there last year when the restaurant at the Gouvernour was under renovation.  Excellent meal.  Yes Pacini is not bad.  We ate at one of those in Point a la Croix last year.
