-6c mostly cloudy, supposed to stay on the cold side for quite a few days. Not seeing any new snow forecast right now. Maybe this will change.

Kirch! A bunch of us including Mike V are leaving from Shawinigan area Saturday. We may head up due north. You know east on 3 thru Quebec City area can be rough & crowded for a bit.

Just got back last night. We did avoid qc city. Zigzagged to St Raymond. Up 23 to LeTape, down the 369, cut over to 3, up to the Fairmont. Then to Roberval. Latuque back to 3 rivers. Had freezing rain, rain, snow, sunny, hot, cold, you name it for weather. Trails were soft then flat and fast.

seems to be the storm of the year for Shawinigan. So much so Schools are closed and tgat don't happen much up here. Not only that but usually if they do close then teachers and staff go to school anyway. Or not get paid. Well today they were told to stay home. Hammertime.

23 groomed on west side of river on Thursday.

Anyone knows how are the trails from Shawinigan to Mattawin? The St-Maurice river is certainly not an option anymore but I've found some information here ( https://www.hotelsmarineau.com/sentiers-motoneige/conditions-pistes ) that let me believe I could go on a ride next saturday.

Trails are all but finished near Shawinigan. For Snowmobiles. Surely there are still some parts OK but that is gonna be way up past Mattawin. If at all. Been raining big here 2 days going on 3 tmmrw. Not worth it. Unless you hate your sled.
