So glad to hear you're back on the sled Bill.  That 900 misses you as much as we do.

Hi Snowshark.  That Tek Vest is nice!  Sandi has tried hers out a couple of times with great success.  Besides a little peace of mind with the added protection, it also keeps you warmer.  The one disadvantage I have found with the Tek Vest and the Choko clothing is the number of pockets.  I can't find my credit card or wallet or room key.  I forget which pocket I put each one in!  Maybe that's the old age?

What vest did Sandi buy, a women's specific model (Divas Snow Gear etc), or the regular Tek Vest?  Also, do they run true to size for a woman?   I have been thinking of getting one.

Thanks, Pam

Hi Pam.  It is a Tek Vest and they are unisex.  We purchased it from Go Big Parts.  Click for the link.  I don't remember why specifically from them.  Probably the price or availability.  We had called first and were told that the Tek Vests have a lot of adjustment to them.  I'm a size 6 and the small fits fine.  I'm typically not a small in clothing but this fits fine.  You may need a larger jacket to go over the Tek Vest.

PS:  It is the vest with the snap on fleece collar.

I little peace of mind never hurts.. a Tek Vest it may stop a little hurts...lol

My wife had gotten me a Tek Vest for me for Christmas a couple years ago and I loved it!!  Unfortunately I accidentally left it at a place near the Casino in CA and a couple hours later when I called to ask if it there.. it was gone..

I found mine on Amazon and got it in 3 days..

Rode 125 miles today.  Had lunch at Mont Valain and then we rode thru Alma , stopping at Ski-Bee-Doo for a coffee.  Passed the groomer that was in Lac Kenogami a week ago.  Glad to see it up and running.  Experienced something today I have not see in the past.  Temps were varying 20F in places.  At SBD it was 6F, got to the Delta and it was 26F  Lots of horfrost in the Alma area.

JAK,

It was great riding with you. Hopefully we can hook up for some more rides later on. Bob and I are headed to the Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu in Feb with the wives, that way they will have things to do while we hit the trails. We can let you know when we are headed back to the Delta and maybe it will work for you to join us again.

Thursday and Friday we rode a combined 250 miles.  Thursday werode up to KM 31 and then across 267 back to 93 to 328 to 134.  Lot of snow on trails which made steering very difficult for me with my chest as sore as it is.  Friday morning I had an interview with local TV station so we never left til after 10AM.  Had lunch at Relais du Lac, then onto Alma and back to the Delta.  Snow was in the air all day, very windy, trails were great.

Yesterday we went to Auberge Eva in Lac Bouchette for lunch.  What a great place.  Took 83 to 355, trails were very good.  On the way back we took 355 to 83 to 603 to St Andre, gased up in St Andre and then took the new trail, 603 that connects St Andre to 23 then to 368 and then  383.  190 mile day.  368 had been hammered.

Thanks Sandi and Jack for the info on the TekVest.   Mine came today.   I was on the upper end of the size but opted for the smaller one-a size small.   There is plenty of room for layers.   I have been thinking of one for a year since breaking a rib last spring.   Bill's accident was a good incentive-small mishaps can hurt!    Thanks again.

You are more than welcome.  Bill is whom we saw first with a vest and thought it was a good idea.
