ultrastryk
I haven't been up to the area since 2008 (been riding The County in Maine and the UP). We've been wanting to come back since then. Are you guys staying at the old Holiday Inn? What is the name of the hotel now? Our first trip of the year is usually Dec. 26th through NY. Would love to ride that area this year. T

Hi Mark, you sure are right about the 1200s not liking water. We got gas at Escomins club house, new tank and he said he has been having trouble with the pump, probably water freezing in the pump. One sled cleared up the next day, the other one is still having some issues. Andy will have to drain his tank to get it all out. Other than that great early season ride. Bras Louis trail is 100mph good.

603backcountry
Well it's the last day of the trip, time to go rip off a final 250 miles, another 1-2" of snow overnight RoadRunner, PLAYHARD and 182ray
RoadRunner
We rode back to Forestville with Johnny 24 wide today , some goat trail riding and a few bog crossings, but it is also good to report that we saw Forestville and Escoumin out and grooming. The Pelchat trail is groomed and connected to Mt Valin. So a mini saddlebag trip would be possible and enjoyable. Our trip ended today, we were very fortunate to end up with 1660 Miles on our sleds. A great start to our snowmobile season. see you on the snow soon RR PLAYHARD, Florida Snowman, groomer and 3 others

Looks like Johnny 24 Widetrack is leading the cross country race! How did all the new 850's hold up? mike Mike, we are all pleased with the 850’s. Most of us bought these sleds and than did several modifications to suit our riding style before coming up. We still have a few more to do. From BRP the Freeride is geared, clutched and mapped for off trail riding, therefore sacrificing fuel and oil efficiency. We like to have our machines to cross over to both trail and back country, so some further, minor gearing changes and clutch work will be going on, primarily for a little better mpg and oil consumption. This is not a BRP issue , they have delivered a very well designed machine, we all wish there was a way to check your option boxes on any sled, Get the clutching, mapping and gearing that you want from the start. Reality makes you understand that this would be difficult for the manufacting process. So that’s why people do up fits and modifications to these machines The renegade’s that we had were perfect, they came out of the crate and hit the trail dialed in. Johnny 24, had a great time, he broke several sections of trail and was very fun to watch How well he could handles that machine, a very experienced rider and snowmobile guide for the Grouix mountains . ultrastryk
Anyone have first hand knowledge of conditions? We are trying to finalize our Christmas to Ny trip. The past several years we had to go to the UP or northern Maine for good snow, but would like to get back up to Chicoutimi
RoadRunner
Ultra, My info is a week old now, but watching what they got in past few days since we were there, and knowing the conditions prior, I believe you will be very safe to plan a ride out of the Saguenay valley on the 26th. I have friends planning the same trip on the 26th. You should find the valley and all trails east into the Valin mtns, Escoumin, Forestville areas with “mid season” like snow conditions. The area has been blessed this year. Have a great ride RR

Ultra, they are so good at using the, typically lighter, snow falls in valley and making perfect trails, that I believe you will be fine. Only exception, if we get a crazy warm up and rain, between now and than. My friends are planning to base out of the Delta as well.
