snowdogs
Looking for some intel for a trip plan. I have done the outer (coastal) trail loop in the past. Can anyone shed some light on what we might expect on the orange/local trails between the 5 just below Gaspe to 597 and the orange/local from Murdochville to 595, are they usually fast and good or more goat path and not groomed well. Any and all comments welcome. Thank you in advance. Mark
smclelan
All the internal orange trails are often considered the best of the Gaspesie. The 597 and 595 are usually kept in very good condition. The trail from the 597 to just above Perce is also excellent most times. The trails above Carleton are great but not always groomed to the 595, but not an issue to travel with the GPS track. The track between La Cache and Murdochville is a must do! doonali and Rodmax

Glenngo
Is the bridge on trail 5 repaired just above Gaspe? Last year we couldn't make the loop since the bridge was down and the ice/snow bridge detour was also down in early March.
Grampsledder
We always do the 595, 597 and the Chic Choc trail. A few years ago we also did the orange trail from Gaspe to the 597. They are great trails, wide open and groomed unless there has been a recent storm. There is a nice gorge on the 597 near the Chandler end. In our nine trips to the region we have only done the tip 2 times. The grooming is usually much better inland. Planning our 10th trip now for the spring. PLAYHARD
The interiors are AWESOME! No "goat paths". Great mix of trail types throughout. And plenty of off-the-grid/no-man's-land feeling. But like anywhere else, as you must know from riding the north shore, pay attention to weather forecasts. https://montrealgazette.com/news/quebec/gaspesie-smothered-by-120-centimetres-of-snow
