Judge64
Every October I book hotels from the UP of Michigan to Quebec for Xmas week in hopes to find somewhere with good early season conditions for the first trip of the season. This year it is not looking too good. I did book a room at the Delta and have been watching the trail condition reports. Not too many updates the past several days. Anyone know how things held up with the warm temps and rain? It's a 15-hour trailer for us and don't mind chasing the snow but prefer not to spend a week in marginal conditions. Thanks in advance! Pipeman
You could call the Delta and see what they say. Phil 1
revct1
The weather forecast predicts cold but not much for new snow. If all goes well, we will be heading up Dec 27th. We were in the area last week pre rain/warm up, it was marginal then.
Snobeeler
I think your best bet now is Abitibi region. Shorter drive and from what I have read they did not get rain.

Yes-we're booked @ Forestel in Val D'Or from the 29th. till Jan.2-I've never been let down by going to Abitibi in over 20 years of riding up there! Judge64
As of a few days ago most trails appear closed in the Val D'Or area.
Shane
Thanks for the thread. I have reservations at The Delta as well. Thinking of canceling. Supposed to head up the 26th with my son. I did see they got 5” up on Mont Valin yesterday. Still hopeful. Thanks to anyone who can provide accurate updates.

Latest reports say trails are decent but no snow on the trails through town. I'm thinking it will be hard to get from the Delta to the trails without trailering. MrGutz
I'll see if Olivier can tell us if we can ride out of the Delta. Valin Still looks good.

I think they're late on the updates because of Xmas + another 6-8" forecast for Thur./Fri.!
Judge64
That doesn’t help me too much.... it’s a 15 hour drive for me from Pittsburgh to Saguenay. My plan was to leave Wednesday. I have been watching the Monts Valin cam. It’s looked good for a while but can be very different down below. MrGutz
That is down below, near the Ski Hill and Passions. GutZ
MrGutz
Olivier from the Delta says they did get rain but you can ride out of the Hotel. But he can't speak to the conditions on the trails. Later GutZ dooright

Looks like Val D'Or goes above freezing Fri. now too; so have booked Cochrane-all neige/staying below freezing!
