Don, I really question why I am still south of the border, I'm not being very productive! Have one more weekend here in VT and then it's time to start ticking off the miles to the North.

All things in time. I have not even been out yet, so don’t feel bad. As we used to say on the island......”Soon come”

Playhard should probably be made aware that Groomer will be doing a 'Ride Along' for the first few runs and that he will be encouraging perfection.....

Mrs. Playhard is THE BEST!

Rented a motorized toy! To take the edge off around the ranch. And to lessen the likelihood of me face-planting while non-weight-bearing crutching!

Now wondering what mods Team Gutz might have in mind?...

So... I've sourced a wrecked Tesla and pulled the batteries and motors. Craigslist had an old Argo 6x6 that had burnt, with the track kit. If I can only find a front end off an Alpine, then we'll have something!!

Or there are always JATOs!

Brilliant!

I'm gonna see the specialist Fri am.

Thinking I'll hold off on discussing these mods until he shares his foot mods!

Merci beaucoup!

Wishing you good luck!👍🏻

Got the best news possible today.  I just had a seismic shift of old bones . The ligaments/tendons/junk are in place.  And my new fav doc prescribed... SLEDDING!  So tour #2 will go as planned the week after next!  Thanks for the laugh therapy in the meantime!  I'll know where to go when I'm cooped up for 2-3 months when they stretch my left leg back out!  Imagine what this gent could do to a long track?!  www.ettorevulcano.com/index.php/aesthetic-stature-lengthening-and-leg-length-discrepancy/   Here's the crew story...

Dear Sledheads!

All is well!

Or at least it’s gonna be soon!

Background: Last Saturday night (1/12) I felt a sudden "pop" and subsequent (insane) pain in the center of my left foot while walking (somewhat) normally on flat ground.

So Berkshire Medical Center ER in Pittsfield ordered zero weight bearing and a compression boot, cancelling Quebec Tour #1.

(It’s really pretty funny how medical pros smile & shake their heads when they first see x-rays of my lower extremities, considering the carnage from my bike wreck back in ‘86!)

Big thanks to my BEST WIFE EVER who made this last week fun by bringing home a rented scooter, like the ones the blue-hairs ride around from slot machine to slot machine to the buffet in the casinos! It’s no coincidence that we bought a ranch house!

Today: We saw an amazing foot specialist in the city:  www.ettorevulcano.com   And are SO SO SO relieved that I didn’t tear the Plantar Fascia! (Web of tendons/ligaments?)

Anyway!...  He said:

He’s surprised I’ve been able to tolerate walking on the badly-badly deformed & arthritic left foot all these (32) years.

And what happened last week was likely some “rusty” bone-on-bone shifting/settling.

And the pain should most likely lessen in time, (hopefully) before the next snowmobile trip (1/28).

And I can get back to weight bearing, etc, and for increasing activity level: “Let the pain be your guide”

And I should put off fusion of the left foot as long as possible because it’s a major recovery, and further limits motion.

And even though the arthritis & spur fusion on my right big-toe proximal phalange is BAD, as long as it doesn’t bother me… I shouldn’t bother it!

And I should call to schedule a left femur re-lengthening when I’ve got 2 or 3 months to spare.

www.ettorevulcano.com/index.php/aesthetic-stature-lengthening-and-leg-length-discrepancy/

And I should put off the imminent left knee replacement until after full recovery from the left leg re-lengthening.

And he agreed with me that I should lose 50lbs stat!

So!  As previously stated!...

Tout va bien!

David
