Thank you Jim and Gemma for letting us ride with you to radar tower and to lunch at Groomers club house. We took 5 back to Rimouski and stopped at L’Empress, at 4:30, was too cold to try making Trio Pistoles. We are going to head to Montmagny today, hope to reach truck in Drummondville on Friday.

After getting our pictures we are headed for a visit with JG. 587 to 5 it’s a nice ride. I  had been taking pics with my camera so I have to wait till I get home. We get to the clubhouse and JG is there. There was a table reserved for us. Gemma says wow we are VIP’s today. We had a great time chatting at lunch. Our riding partners had to get going. They’re not sure where they will end up tonight. JG haddock big hours of grooming coming up he has to get some rest. We say our goodbyes.

I wanted to say thanks Mario for meeting us at  Valga we really enjoyed your company. It was a pleasure to meet you, your wife and Frank.

We arrive at the hotel take a fast shower and head over to a seafood restaurant we found last year. It’s a 5 minute walk. Once again we have a terrific meal. The hosts are super nice. Now I’m ready for sleep. 179 miles today.

Thank you for keeping us company. We are used to riding alone. It was fun to be part of a group.

Sounds like a nice ride back for you guys. Enjoy.

Hi JG

Its very windy up there. I guess that’s why there’s wind mills. Gemma did not like the drifts climbing up there.

Speaking of wind. Things are happening on 5.

Hope you get a good nap😂.

Thursday

I can’t believe it’s our last day already. Time flies when you’re having fun.

I pack up the machine. It’s windy this morning the temperature is 5f.

We drive around back and have a look up the mountain. Ok Gemma are you ready to climb up there? We start to head east and meet some people. I ask if it’s possible to go up Mt Saint Joseph. I was told just drive up the road it’s the easiest way. We take the side of the road for a bit and we’re headed up. Years ago we did this by car. I remember the smell of brakes on the way down.

On the way up there is a lot of snow. It’s covered over the guard rail. The wind has made a few drifts. I’m hearing some strange sounds though my communicator. Nice view isn’t it? “There’s no trail” Don’t worry this is the road we took in the car years ago. We make our way up and is cold and windy. The view is very nice.

We stop for gas and head toward Causapscal. The trail is in much nicer condition out of PALC. We start to see some traffic over this way. It had been a quiet trip so far.

I pull over and make a fast spring adjustment. I just passed 2000 miles on the new machine.

We get to JGs section of 5. The wind is strong over here. We decide that we will stop at La Coulee Douce for an early dinner.

After a great meal we head toward Albertville. Going over the bridge we spot some deer. They are down on the ice and freeze in place when we cross. It was funny how they just stood there trying not to be seen. We stop for gas by the clubhouse and head for Matane. TQ5 is in top shape.

Looks like you had a great trip, enjoyed reading along. La Coulee Douce looks like the place we stopped for lunch years ago late March after getting caught in a torrential downpour.

Stopped there and they offered to put our gear in the dryer as we where soaked. Proceeded to eat lunch in our underwear, at least we where the only ones there!
