revrnd
I picked up some Quebec info last weekend @ the OFSC's Go Snowmobiling Show in Toronto. I noticed that some motels that previously were listed as "FCMQ Secure Hotels" are no longer listed. Does anyone know why? Is it based on a annual fee like a chamber of commerce or did these accommodations have "issues" that caused them to be removed from the list? blizzman
The FCMQ, in partnership with some fifty-two (52) hotels throughout Quebec, has set up a security program to reduce the incidence of snowmobile theft for those traveling with their snowmobiles. To be eligible to participate in the program, hotels must have security features for snowmobiles such as: locked garage, locked enclosures, free security chains for the use of guests, video surveillance systems or security guard services. more than likely, some of these hotels did not meet or want to continue to meet these requirements. About time. We have stayed at some these so called hotels that made the list noting they were not any more secure than others not on the list...matter of fact one year two of our guys had their sleds stolen along with trailers belonging to other snowmobile parties broken into.
