Who is getting ready?

The new sled is sitting almost ready to go in the garage, only wheels to mount on the skis left. The spare bedroom upstairs has clothes, helmets, boots, gloves, GPS, etc spread out everywhere.  Getting prepared to leave with little notice.

I don't think I am alone, lots of my sled buddies are also waiting anxiously!!

This week I emailed my dealer to get the sled out of storage and gave a list of things to check over.  I also got my state registration renewed and for the first time ever did my Quebec Trail Pass on line.  Got my insurance bill and paid that.  Only thing left to do is pick my date to head north, first Sunday in January or second Sunday. I suppose the vin rouge will be better if I give it an extra week to age.

We have 2 new sleds, an 850 backcountry and an 850 expedition extreme, all ready , luggage mounted, all registered, trailer is serviced, and trip clothing and gear is being checked, earliest we have ever been ready, trying to get out between T-Day and X-mas for break-in trip, maybe 3 or 4 days.

Do a couple components each day on the new 2020 Renegade.Today HyGear dual rate springs and the High Beam LEDs. Tomorrow, glovebox extension, GPS, and tunnel scratchers.  Quebec Pass should be arriving any day.  Trailer is greased, new brakes installed, registered, and inspected.  My wife’s 900 Enduro and Daughters 600 ACE were put away ready to go.  A little closer each day.  A few more enjoyable hours to go.

95% Ready.  Looking now for the right size & shape waterproof duffle to hold some extra gear

Not sure what your looking for Florida Snowman but l really like this Dryspec 38L bag. Has a semi rigid liner inside so keeps its shape, flat on the bottom so it sits well stacked on top of other things.

Strapped on with set of ROK Straps and travels very well. Use on my sled in the winter and Spyder in the summer.

What is the rear bag-box you have on? Is that Powder keg or Yamaha bag. Looks substantial

Thanks

It’s a Powder Keg Combo Pak.  3 gallon fuel keg on bottom & storage box on top. Can ride with both or either one individually.

Nice sled. I have been using Overboard waterproof boating backpacks as my primary sled (and beach) gear for several years. That bag Fuse posted looks good too.

Hows the usable interior space compared to the Linq system or did you even consider that?

Also which tunes-mods are you doing 🙂

Hey Yeti,

SnowTracker Aggressive carbides #008-194173 fits Yamaha Tuner Skis (1,2 & 3).

I’ve used SnowTrackers on my last 3 sleds & love them!

I’m familiar with the Linq system but did not compare interior cubic space between the two.  I’m thinking most if not all of my emergency gear will fit into the Powder Keg top box & always remain on the sled.
No tuning or mods will be done.  I’m a stock guy who values reliability over peak performance.  There’s plenty of HP with that triple 998 Turbo!
