Riding from the Casino, La Malbaie

Planning on doing the Cote Nord last week of Feb.

Looking at option to launch our trip from.

Would the Petit Le Manior Casino be a good option to ride from and park our trucks and trailers at for the 5 days we are gone.

Via email they said we could park the trucks and trailers at the Pavillion. Plan now is to arrive Saturday night, day loop ride from hotel Sunday because 2 of our group have a wedding Saturday at home so they will meet us Sunday night. Then Monday morning depart for Sept-iles.

Wondering if the trails in and out of the hotel and this area get really beat by Sunday and Monday?

Little further east at Saint Simeon there is the La Horizon. Any comments? Playhard did you stay there on your solo run back home last season?

Other option considering is trucking to Sacre Coeur and launching from Hotel Coronet or Fermes 5 Ltoiles.

We stayed at the Coronet last year but haven't been to Fermes 5 Ltoiles.

Any comments or other suggestions appreciated.

Trailer the shortest distance, and snowmobile as much as possible!!

I agree with this in principle, normally, but my Cote Nord rides haven't been consistently normal!

I'd pass on sledding the ferry and the twisties north from Tadoussac, and launch from the Coronet in Sacre Coeur.

You won't regret having more time on the coast, even if the weather is agreeable.

Been up that way a few times now and still haven't gotten dinner at Resto Chez Julie in Havre-Saint-Pierre!

Me too neither.  I haven't stayed there.  Coronet has what we need, gas, resto, beds, truck parking.

Resto Chez Julie in Havre-Saint-Pierre, been there a few times.  🙂  2 day run from Forestville.  Its a long car drive from Montreal, but it does get you up where you need to be.  Leaving Baie Saint Paul, or Malbaie, Sacre Coeur or Escoumins are all good options depending on how many days you have to devote to riding snowmobiles and how far up route 3 you want to go.  After Sept Iles resources get a bit thin.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

Decided we will start from Sacre Couer for various reasons. Reading old posts in the Cote Nord section saw couple pictures of the Seafood Platter at Resto Chez Julie. Gives us something to aim for.

Doubt we will have time to reach Havre-Saint - Pierre.

Take it day by day and hope we get the weather to make the run this year.
