TQ3 St. Simeon

Evidently there is a problem between St Simeon and Baie St Catherine. They had a problem last year as well from what I understand. The land owner blocked access. Apparently he bought this land years ago from Government and in sale contract is a right of passage for TQ3. However he is not happy and is a lawyer and says he has right to block his land to others.

Last year the government stepped in and reopened the trail. I am not sure of all the details.

This year he has stepped up his game. He dug a big 10’ deep trench and has made one hell of a blockade.

we shall see what happens.

Lets hope the Govt forces his hand.

This reminds me of New England and New York,.. rich city folk buy a property.  1st thing they do is post it and shut down any and all trails that have passed thru for years.

Were seeing more and more of this in NH.  Our trails near here are all right angle turns around these types of land owners.

Sylvain Tremblay is "aware" of what is going on.  "But I'm not the owner.  It is the government that has decided and it will answer you.  I would like it to be settled, but I'm not going to do it, "he told FM Charlevoix.

The owner of the land on which the trail was blocked, Vital Lévesque, also preferred not to comment.  Asked who had piled the earth and debris to block the crossing, the former lawyer simply replied that he did not know.

Raynald Harvey of the Snowmobile Club Les Aventuriers is disappointed to see that the work carried out by his organization, "in agreement with the Ministry of Forests, Wildlife and Parks", including the installation of a pipe, were thus vandalized  .  "We didn't do anything without having the permissions.  The path has been decreed and formalized, ”he recalls.

He finds this gesture "provocative", but prefers not to talk about the rest of things.  "The snowmobile club has done its best in this since the start," said Raynald Harvey.  He specifies that another path is passable in this sector.

Last November, the government allowed, with a "declaration of belonging", the passage of snowmobiles on the Vital Lévesque property, which prevented access to the national trail.  The owner had disagreed with this decision and wished to file a complaint against the mayor Sylvain Tremblay.

Just gets discouraging with stuff like this showing up too often, especially when over 99% of all the people I meet snowmobiling are really wonderful and not deserving of this kind of treatment.

Trail 3 closed from St Anne to Baie St Paul?!

That'd be a 250 mile go-around?!

Could choke lots of rides/revenue passing thru.

Any updates on this issue with trail #3?

Sorry I have heard nothing more for St Simeon as of today.

TQ3 east of Beaupre is still not open yet. The Rivere St Anne is not frozen to cross yet and there is work going on somewhere else so they cannnot open it yet.
