zeusand
Left my house at 6 a.m. yesterday morning and drove up to Riviere-du-loup for our five day Quebec New Brunswick trip. 620 miles one way from South Western Connecticut. Met my buddy Terry from Plattsburgh New York who was already in Quebec doing a trip and agreed to come for another five days of riding. As I'm pulling into the parking lot, I see Mike Rider parking his sled. Haven't seen him in 10 years probably or more. At dinner saw Mike, Jack and Sandy as well. I have to say, Mike recommended the Biencourt to Moose Valley northern route instead of the usual the Degelis to Moose Valley southern route and it was incredible, almost like riding in the Park Des laurentides...that good! When Mike, who rides as much as he does is impressed with a trail, I listen! Today we left riviere-du-loup, had lunch at Moose Valley and then continued on to Campbellton New Brunswick 264 miles. Big thanks to Mike for the trail routing help and also to Jack for letting me have his last New Brunswick trail map! zeusand
Left Campbellton this morning and got a ride in a nice Silverado with an enclosed trailer from mundles Towing 40 Canadian each. After a quick 10 minute ride left point of LaCroix heading to Hotel Fraser in Chandler. But after passing only about a dozen sleds and 246 MI we decided we didn't need reservations, big mistake as the hotel was completely booked so we had dinner and then rode Grande Riviere (sp) can't understand why no one's up here in March mid-winter conditions with anywhere from two to five feet or maybe more in the higher elevations. So one wolf in Bonaventure, first time for me in over 20 years. And then we saw wolf tracks later after Chandler 2 times must have walked down the trail for at least 2 miles.looked like a big Shepard with a slightly grey coat. original plan was to go to Murdock Ville but it was 280 MI and it was snowing in the a.m. so we chose a different route. Fuse6
Anyone know if the orange trail running south from the 587S to the New Brunswick border connects with a trail in New Brunswick. On the NB app doesn’t show a trail on NB side. Would like to ride from Moose Valley to Point La Croix but include the south end of the 587S as part of the ride. TIA Steve MrGutz

zeusand
Today we slept in, left Grand Riviere at 9:50 a.m. and had an easy day. Took the 5 all the way to a small inn in Riviere Madeleine Auberge Chez Mamie. Roger is great host. The school bus photo made me think of Jean Guy. 2 other guests here tonight, sledders from New Hampshire, Nick and Adam? Told them about the site, hopefully they check it out. 170 miles. Tomorrow were off to Rimouski area. Blueblood, mikerider, quebec bob and 9 others

zeusand
Today we left riviere Madeleine at 8:07 a.m. and arrived at domain valga in Saint Gabriel de rimouski. Mostly sunny day until the afternoon but we got some good pictures. The two guys from New Hampshire that stayed at the same Inn as us last night and a group of 10 others could not get past a Moose today 4 over 1/2 hour and they called the police which sent a game warden on a snowmobile. They sent me the video when we met them at the next relay for lunch but it's not that clear so I'm waiting for him to resend it or uploaded on Quebec Rider himself. The Game Warden Road over close to the Moose and the Moose started to charge him and he got off the snowmobile and push the Moose with both hands on its rear which spooked the Moose out causing him to fall and then run away. Hopefully they post the clear video or I will post the one I have. Awesome day riding today 267 miles. Fuse6
Hi Zeusand, Wonderful pictures you been posting. Enjoyed following along as we are headed for the Gaspe/NB Saturday. Where did you meet the Mundle Shuttle on the Campellton side? Are they available on short notice or do we need to call a few hours ahead to set a tentative pickup time? Thanks Steve
mikerider
I must say your camera phone does an awesome Job, those are great pictures. I guess some credit has to go to the person who pointed the camera in the right direction. lol mike
zeusand
Because they were calling for 6 to 8 inches, left Domaine Valga Friday morning at 8 a.m. to beat the snow on our last day. Arrived Riviere du loup at 11:30. 120 miles. Loaded up the sleds and I made the long 620 mile ride home. Great 4 1/2 days of riding. A little over 1000 miles total. My 6th time doing the Gaspe and It never gets old! You live in the most beautiful part of Quebec jean-guy! Thanks Steve Hi Steve, they just come to whatever Hotel you're in in Campbellton or Pointe a LaCroix and pick you up. Every time I've called them it's usually within the half hour, sometimes 15 minutes, so be ready to go. Originally planned on getting back to the universal at 3 p.m. because my buddy had to get back to Plattsburgh but because of the snow coming in we decided to alter the trip and make the last day short otherwise I was planning on staying Friday night and having a few drinks with you. Hopefully next year, take care.
zeusand
Here's the moose video, sorry about the quality. If you look in the top left-hand corner of the video you'll see the Moose charging the game warden who sitting on his snowmobile and that's when he gets off the sled and pushes the Moose with both hands on its rear!
