Place hasn't changed . I haven't been there for 7 years maybe longer. Funny reading and seeing photos you can close your eyes and recall days like yesterday. My wife and I crossed the ferry heading towards forrest ville. Heavy snow all day with wind. I got her to the truck stop other side. That was it. We stayed over night. Real roach hotel. Looking back and might have been right it was push 10 pm. She reminds me often. Insisted we cut the trip short and go back to saint Raymond the. Next day. We pulled in there late also . Some odd reason she wouldn't tour with me alone for a really long time. Only over night trips. Long story glad you had a good trip Just Jesse

I agree on the price tag today. In the past I've had several diesel rigs. I've changed my ways 2009 Nissan titan. More than enough power for the three place loaded. Agreed I have to add one more tank of fuel . I don't care good excuse for me to walk of some discomfort from sitting.

personally I use dog tags for information from contact Info to medical records in the cloud. Each person is different but familiar methods work for me . most times a phone gets lost broken or over looked by first responders. Tags are universal. My.total method used daily 1. Like mentioned tags lists main issues from ( not ashamed to admit ) p.t.s.d to epilepsy. And a direct link to all medical issues and doctors. Your physician can help you with that. For tags Go to. (my dog tags.com) 2. In my wallet is a list of meds. 3. In my pocket is one days worth of pills. The container is easily bought at any drug store. 4. Any individual that is on a long trip is aware of this info. Some are uncomfortable at first but those who know me are bothered.

Duramax Motor - Block Heater - Type of extension cord?

I respectfully disagree with your opinion. Yes the chemical difference between fuel oils and gas are different. No the percentage won't cause pre fire. Yes the warranty will still cover injectors. Yes prolonged usage might have an effect but not catastrophic causes like you mentioned. Injectors are covered by gm for 100,000 miles most rigs show signs of Injection issues in or above that. Yes gm will replace the injection systems. No the computer systems wont pickup the fuel cutting like mentioned of 10 to 12 percent tank volume but will record the motor going into salvage mode if field with gas. My 06 and 09 both had injection done near 100,000 miles. The ford no the dodge the entire system was junk design and made by dodge not Cummins. That truck was an 02. The fuel would be the lube in that system but failures in supply to the system was an issue. I replaced 3 before dodge figured it out. Now the big wow yes all rigs are still on the road I typically ran them 100,000 plus then pass them on to employees to run. You obviously made an assumption there. Now for the biggest wow the main reason I did this and understand what the manufacturer would and wouldn't care to know is all the trucks came from stockurger chevy in Newtown pa. We held stock in the company through are corporation as they did mine. They are family. But before you use that card all the warranty work was performed in Florida were we are based zero Influences from the for mentioned Now this topic is about how to make the truck start in cold not typical exposed to south in his case the thread originator. That fuel system will have high percentage of moisture In fuel winter cut or not. Most say block heating yes that keeps the oil and block hotter than unplugged and some but not all heat the tank but not the delivery system. That requires assistance by owner. Now we all know what makes any car run fuel but it has to have a path. The suggestion isn't the boggy man as you suggest. But a perspective of individual opinion. To you my method seems dangerous but that doesn't make it wrong it works with zero cause and effect. -
Duramax Motor - Block Heater - Type of extension cord?

I'm on my third duramax truck one ford one ram. Under 5 Gallons of fuel will not do a thing to the motor nor the warranty . It will how ever change the gel temps of the fuel. More over it has been done for decades on hauling rigs. Only improvement for nearly 20 years to the motor is the style of injection systems and turbo's besides the obvious epa regs -
Once did a group tour from north bay Ontario to the polaris factory and back. Fun trip took 10 days round trip. Yes the trail pass were a pain but well worth the experience. One of the nicest areas of the trip was lake of the woods. I would do this ride if it comes to being.

Duramax Motor - Block Heater - Type of extension cord?

I've never plugged any of mine in. I would fill the rig in town add some 911 and a few gallons of high test gas. The gas won't hurt a thing. When I return I would hit the glow plugs two to three times. Rig started every time for many years. Many trips the truck would be in 40 plus below. Few times it was cold enough for the oil filter gasket to leak but that stopped quickly. I do however big a spare fuel filter but. Never used it. Security I did several ways from pulling motor relays under hood. To re purpose over head console light switch to a ignition interrupt. I did have to run to new parallel lines for that to work. Pig tails under dash allowed for change back once home. That was hands down the most clever way I disabled a rig. Plain sight always works best. Best regards Just Jesse -
I'm assuming you're talking Fisher cat. Pole set would be my likely choice. Either snare or small foot trap. The cage idea of neighbors is pissing to the wind

Same but with a long track kit

Perfect is close enough. But we should call it something other then stealing you have a reputation to keep. To topic its not hard to have 100g rolling down the road. That's a target in any location.

I've always used low technology for protection. 1. Remove relay fuses from under hood fuse box. 2. Leave trailer until locked. I've seen trailer side cut out for the content 3. No matter how late empty the trailer cable sleds nose to nose. 4. Most importantly if it easy access to hotel i.e. right off major road or city then it's easy for them to take. Go out of your way some stay off the main grid. 5. While travelling back in rest areas or glass one person stays with rig. I've heard of rigs followed and stolen out of rest areas. I'm generally alone so I added a toggle under dash to kill ignition supply leg. Very simple but effective. Slow them down they become a target. In my d max I actually used the over head console dome light switch for the ignition interrupt. Made jumper under dash I'd installed when traveling when home remove. Basically truck won't start with out pushing dome lights on. Note those lights won't work but the other cab lights did. At least in that truck. Hide in plain sight. This isn't just a Quebec issue. You are near the Pittsburgh area right?
