January 20Jan 20 Author comment_124813 What about Pourvoirie de La Dore? They have gas BUT, I'm not sure where the trail into their place leaves trail 93 when coming from the north? That could make a big difference on miles traveled to get there. Does anyone know how to get in their? Report
January 20Jan 20 Silver Donating Member comment_124816 The trail into them is just short of 8 miles off the 93 . Makes the distance to gas about a 130 miles. So i guess that helps a little Report

Pretty sure I read on here that they only have regular gas and by the map it is further than if you went into La Dore village. Report

If going north from La Dore its a left off TQ93Someone else will be able to tell you exact distances each side. Report
January 22Jan 22 Author comment_124845 I am not confusing Pourvoirie de La Dore with anything. I'm just trying to understand if the entrance to Pourvoire de La Dore is taking a right about 120 miles from the Marinia Chibougamau and heading south off of 93 OR going another 20 miles and taking a right heading east off of 93 to get there.Maybe I'm not clear enough but damn I still don't know the simple answer. January 22Jan 22 Silver Donating Member comment_124849 You can go back out the way you came in, or head out south towards La Dore'. Report

January 24Jan 24 Author comment_124903 10 day ride starting in St Raymond, to Ontario boarder by a southern route, up to Matagami, over to Chibougamau then back to St Raymond. We have an alternate route returning thru Clovia and Parent from Matagami if the cold is extreme or a major snow dump makes that section thru Chibougamau to dangerous. Report
January 24Jan 24 comment_124918 Sounds like an excellent loop. Wish you best of luck and freshly groomed trails. Report
January 25Jan 25 comment_124971 Hi Floridarider. You don't mention if anyone of the 6 are carrying extra gas. Not everyone may need to carry extra gas because you have luggage but on a trip of that length, it would be wise to have at least one or two sleds carrying extra gas just in case. That way, at least someone can continue on for assistance if need be.Enjoy the ride and be safe.Jack & Sandi Report
January 26Jan 26 Author comment_124996 Yes, we will have extra gas and good equipment, this group has (not always all 6) been enjoying our 10 day Quebec ride for 10 years now. Except for Covid when we did Maine for 2 years. Maine is nice but we love Quebec, its snow and the people.. Some of us have over 30,000 miles of riding in Quebec. Have not done "THE WHITE TRAIL" or Chibougamau so we hope to get Chibougamau off the list, but I'm thinking I'm too old for The White Trail.Jack & Sandi we appreciate you checking with us on the gas it's so important. Thank you Report
