Arrived this afternoon for stay #2 this winter, hopefully here for a couple weeks. I may have to move elsewhere Saturday night as the hotel is full, just an FYI. if you are thinking of coming up. This has only happened to me once before, stayed at Days Inn, ran into NEKSledder and TrailBlazer. Supper and drinks at the Levesque. and what had to be the coldest walk ever going back to the Inn. But a fun night of good food, drinks and friends. Last trip my Oxygen Helmet shield kicked the bucket the first week and week two the short wire shorted out, the 6 inch wire that connects to the sled and helmet wire. Now trip two week one, connect the cord to helmet and get the green light for about 1/2 second with each connection attempt. Several minutes later by pure luck, found a Canadian quarter stuck in the helmet slot where the cord connects by magnet. The magnet must be a rare earth magnet, I could not get the quarter out. Finally had to pry it out with a knife, and it did not come easy. The new Polaris Matryx now has 2,200 miles this season. Only problem so far has been the electric start which started to occasionally not work at the end of the last trip. Dealer installed a new part and all is fine again. I am really enjoying this sled. It has a nice fun factor, love the riding position and the handling. Motor is awesome. Getting really good gas mileage. It will be a tough decision whether to go back to SkiDoo next year or get another Polaris. I am really undecided. Another reminder, I still cannot respond to threads due to computer issues. I can only start new threads. However, I can respond to messages. Mike

Mike, I had trouble with my Oxygen helmet shield and cord last season. Both failed separately on the same day. The Ski Doo dealer in Fort Kent, Maine tested them, and sold me a new cord. The new cord has no controller like the original. He told me he could warranty it if I had my receipt. I called me dealer and the gal there sent me a receipt. Later that day, the shield stopped working again, and I went back, he tested it, and the shield had failed, which he replaced for free. I don't know how long this warranty will last. This all happened January of 2025. I bought the helmet November of 2022...

Finally got up to squeeze in a few quick days here in RDL. Great to be here again.

In town is thin and going fast….yet flat and fast with a few rough spots. Out of town was great but again thin. Trails like 571 and 35W up over the mountains was really amazing. Should be good today but warmth and some rain tomorrow I’m afraid could be it except some pockets. In town is likely in trouble if that happens.

Always great to read everyone’s adventures each season outside of all the noise on Facebook. Time to clean the sleds and put them away for the season for us. Enjoy the warmer temps and see you guys next winter !

Not sure where you are parked but the place looks like a ghost town

Is it that quiet out there?

It was noonish when we got there so sleds were already out. Pretty dry and this was Friday before 4 days in the 40’s. 🙃

Too bad because a 6” snowfall would have extended a lot of trails. We can’t complain about the base this year.

Have a safe summer guys. 👍
