I see a lot of trails being turned Red (closed) on iMotoneige. Hopefully this is to keep riders off during soft conditions and not due to loss of snow levels.

Agree. Still full on winter. Rode with my buddy Shore 1066 out of Val d Or last Wednesday through Friday. Woke up to this on Thursday morning in Matagami.

We ended up bailing out on our trip. Looks like out of RDL is red now, no way to head east??

We were going on a whim, trying to get one more good ride before spring.

Hoping for one more ride. I see open trails, looking for opinion on if Valdor- Amos area ok or would trails north of Mount Laurier be better? Thank you

I was in Val D'or area and up to Matagami this past weekend. Was mid winter conditions. Even a lot of the roads were still covered.

I am going try and leave from PALC on Thursday morning. From there a loop along the north Gaspe, down to Murdochville, over to La Cache, back up toward Matane and back to PALC. The lady at the Interprovincial indicated that you could still leave from the Hotel. We shall see how far we get; it may be a fool's errand but at least we will go down swinging.

I will try to post conditions.

Temperatures are looking good and from what I understand there is still good snow.

Gaspe is done, left LeCashe this AM lucky if we get back to RDL without a flat bed ride on the black trail. Tons of trees in trail and water everywhere. In Rimouski now.

Just got into Amqui by sled, came from LaCache, everything is closed even around here, tomorrow it's down to RDL via the blacktop, first time in 36 years so I won't complain!

Well it has been a good winter even it it did end abruptly. Spoke to many motel and restaurants owners/managers, they were all very excited about the business this winter best in several years they said. This is always good to hear. Too many lately have poor winters and end up being seasonal. Perce is a prime example, used to be two or three motels to pick from in the winter, plus a gas station.

Rode from Baie Comeau to Sept iles followed Trail 3 until it turned Red in Moisie!!! Trails were Spectacular ran into 7 Groomers & 3 Sleds!!!

After seeing red north of Amqui this morning our group decided to opt out of our Northern Gaspe loop. Things change very fast in March. Hard to believe that you can go from excellent to done for the season in a couple of days.

We made it back to Amqui yesterday afternoon, snow was ok, but too many trees across the trails is the main reason they closed them

How did you make out getting back to RDL?

The trail into Windigo is maintained just not by fcmq so it'll aways show red .

Windigo is not currently taking reservations. They dropped the reservoir early this year wreaking havoc on the ice and I think Martine & Daniel were ready for a break. If your plan is to stay the night there you better double check

Arrived at Gouin at 4 pm and just got done with drinks and fabulous moose stuffed peppers and mashed taters dinner. It is full on winter up here. Honestly wouldn’t be able to tell if it’s Jan, Feb, or March 20th. Could be either of the three. Snow looked great all the way before Mont Laurier and north. Stopped at Lounnan for a few minutes and also Parent. Half a dozen sleds at Lounnan having lunch and didn’t see anyone in Parent. Not a single sled anywhere when I came through at 2:30. Trail out of town heading towards Haltaparche that criss crosses the road looked like only a half dozen sleds might have been on it since groomed a couple days ago. Visually I rate it 9+. The road itself was void of any tracks whatsoever after the trail turns into the woods on the right for the last time (with 4-5 inched of fresh powder)and I performed Formula 1 maneuvers in my F150 with sled in back in 4 wheel drive all the way to the Gouin some 50+ miles. It was kinda surreal.

Think we are heading to Clova tomorrow for lunch and back to the Gouin for supper/sleep.

Sunday we might do the 22 by road if still not plowed. Don’t know if/when we will make it to Kanawata but it would just be for a quick stop as awe are staying at Andre’s house each night.
