I see a lot of trails being turned Red (closed) on iMotoneige. Hopefully this is to keep riders off during soft conditions and not due to loss of snow levels.

Trails are currently 100%.

I heard from them and yes they confirmed closed till the spring. Relais 22 it is.

We had a spectacular 225 mile loop yesterday. Left the Gouin yesterday morning and dropped down to the 83 into Parent. So no one and trails were superb. Off to Clova where we had about a dozen sleds pass us in various groups sizes. Trails still great but was softening up due to near zero temp and super bright sunshine. Had a nice stop in Clova and I got to have my second “Club Clova” poutine of the year. Met Jes me Souviens and crew where they were getting ready to leave after sled repair. They did make it to Kanawata for supper we heard.

We left Clova and decided to take the road back to Parent and from there the road all the way back to the Gouin which both were as awesome as the trail would have been, full of unplowed snow and never saw a soul from Clova to Gouin.

Simply dosnt get any better.

We are having breakfast now trying to decide what to do

Option 1: take the road from Gouin all the way to the 22

Option2: do the reservoir to Obedjiwan

Option3: ride the back bush roads up north towards Camp Cooper and Chibougamau

Chris, glad you made the trek to get that last ride of the season. It will help with your snowmobile redemption, ahh, I got to ride again, the season feels somewhat complete. Ran from mon Ami’s Andre on the Gouin this morning to Obedjiwan via the reservoir. Back down the other side to La Patate du Gouin. Anyone ever been here ??? Déjà vu for us we were here yesterday as well coming out of Clova. We are having Bud Light’s , cheeseburgers and poutine and are going to blast the roads (still unplowed and not sanded) back to Parent and same roads back to Andre’s house just like we did yesterday.

Over the TOP insane day so far

Chris did you notice if la pine rd was groomed or not heading south from Clovis towards le pensive?

The outfitter north of Le Pensive indicated they did groom it this week but there was a few water spots to watch for.

We hung out at that intersection yesterday and talked to some folks my buddy knew.

It looked fabulous heading south on that Lepine trail with only a couple tracks on it.

Just got back to Andre’s on the Gouin.

175 AWESOME miles today and never saw another sled

Great seeing you again Chris. The express lanes have been perfect around the reservoir lately

Yesterday we did our third days ride up in the bush northeast of the Barrage Gouin and down to Relais 22 for lunch. We were the only ones there. Three blue sky days in a row and a FABULOUS 617 miles for a long weekends ride. Couldn’t have been any better. Good times, good friends and good trails is what it’s all about.

I have only rode to Obedjewan once, can't wait to do it again. Andy man was the guide on that ride.

third time for me but I have a feeling it's going to become an "annual staple" with Andre and I in the future.

People should not be intimidated by it. Nothing scary about it. Then again we got lucky and ran into some guys at a camp that showed us where some indians put pine tree branches in the snow every 500 yards or so from Obedjiwan to the south. It's challenging but if you have a GPS track, other tracks from previous sledders, or follow or some "stakes" (even if it's tree branches") (or any combination of the three) your good to go. I never saw ANY slush or anything "scary". I think the most important thing is the weather. Last place you would want to be in a white out.

Chris the year of covid when we stayed at Halteparche I was out 3 weeks before running into you and Jeff...put 5 k on that winter and ran from Gouin to OBJ across the reservoir with GPS...alone...like you ...we both pushed the envelope many many miles alone...like you said if the weather is ok....its a pretty easy run...I also ran out to the valdor area and Amos on the same trip....put 6500 on the extreme in 2 rides....greased it between trips and traded it in....

Agreed Chris on weather being a big factor when running the Gouin

Here at La Patate du Gouin . You have to take the road out of Clova for some ways and turn up 3KM to the road going Obedjiwan to get to this place. Its a GEM. She has food, beer, and rooms and the place is NICE.

she said I was the first ever American snowmobiler there. Summertime a different story as she caters to fisherman
