Excellent news for snowmobilers: the river walkway in Madeleine is reborn!

It's official and eagerly awaited: the river walkway in Madeleine will be reconstructed as announced!

After being closed for two straight seasons forcing snowmobilers to borrow free shuttle service, things are about to change forever. The works are done and have already begun, which confirms that it will finally be possible to cross the river on snowmobiles for the 2026-2027 season.

Plan your trip with peace of mind

For all you snowmobile fans out there, this rebuild is a game changer. No more complex logistics and wasting time waiting for the shuttle: it will now be much simpler and faster to establish your route.

The time has come!

You can now start planning your legendary tour of the Gaspésie with ease.

TRACK your maps and plan your stops. The gaspian trails are regaining their fluidity, and the breathtaking landscapes await only you.

La Gaspésie is waiting for you!

This bridge, plus the trail from La Cache to Murdochville reopened will put the Gaspesie back on sledders winter plans. Easy loops through some of the best vista's in Quebec.

The old and new bridge upright frames look remarkably similar. Was the old structure (red parts) wood or steel?

Steel

If I recall correctly the old bridge was deemed unsafe because of the Anchor Points to the ground for the Cables

Not a bridge builder don’t know.

Probably was 300k to fix the old bridge and 900k to build a new one

so up here that means, shoot the wad go for the 900k (more money to go around)
