  1. Crossing from Vermont to Quebec you are much better off crossing at Beechers Falls into East Hereford. Trail 55 doesnt get good until you get north of NH. We did the north shore and the Gaspe last year and it was awesome. Hoping to do it this year leaving from Derby Vt and not having to trailer to RDL this year. Heres hoping for snow this winter! :drinks:

  2. post-102-0-28690200-1346202843_thumb.jpg This is my sled last february at Sports BC in New Richmond. Notice the rear suspension on the bench to the left, yeah its mine too! I broke a rail and lost a couple wheels. The only reason we made it to our destination that night (Perce) was because this shop is top knotch! They rolled a sled off a lift and went to work right away. A very reasonable $300 later and we were back on tq 5 around the Gaspe! Its all part of the saddlebagging adventure! I guess?!?!
  3. Pelchat in les escoumins and hotel le compte in baie comea. We were just there Wednesday and Thursday nights. Both nice places and very reasonable. Tq3 is an awesome ride!! Flat fast and some nice sights!

  4. We rode sunday mondAy and Tuesday out of the HS and found some real good riding once we got north of the river. Anything 15 miles out of the HS was terrible!! 83 to Shipshaw was the worst i ever rode in quebec! We are in Baie Comeau right now and TQ3 is flat and fast!! Sorry we missed you Bill, see you on our next trip!

  5. MrGutz I deal with Walts in Derby Vt. Unbelievable service is an understatement. They will do whatever it takes to keep you on the trail. When my motor blew they had a new long block in and back riding in 1 day! They do things like this time after time. All around great people to deal with.

  6. Hey Everybody!

I know this is not a Tech Forum, but I was cleaning up the Old Etec this weekend and found the Carb Boots were Tearing and Delaminating. I know my brothers are hard on equipment, but I can not blame them for this one. So even if you sled is only 2 years old, check over the Carb Boots real good. The Dealer said it was the first ones he's seen on the XP Chassis (not sure I beleive him). Anyways they want 210+ for a set of new ones. I ordered a set from a guy in Alma, QC. 140.00 to my door.

There is also a recall for the pistons on the 10 and 11 etec 800s! Dealer just told me about it last weekend!!

  7. Last Dec 10th me and 3 friends went to Mt Valins and stayed at Passions at the ski area (Valinouet). The conditions were great! We rode to Km31, The Chappelle and there was 12+ inches of freshly fallen snow all the way to Onatchiway!! Then on tuesday, our 4th day, pouring rain ended our trip but it was still worth every penny to me!

  8. Vt_blue, Thanks for the reply. I must be getting wiser, not just older, because your points have already crossed my mind :good: !!! We would do it heading north to south so fuel would be available but riding fast after dark has already proven dangerous to both me and a buddy. Last year I hit a deer at 70 mph and a couple years before that my buddy hit 1 at much faster than that!! Neither of us were hurt but easily could have been killed!! If we do make it to Rimouski on tuesday where can we spend wednesday night and still make it to Derby Vt on thursday by say 4pm?? Thanks to all of you again. This site is the Best!!

  9. I will let you know how we make out Brian. Planning on leaving Derby Vt monday am heading to St Georges. Tuesday taking 55 to either RDL or Rimouski. Wednesday heading to Thetford mines On 5 and 35 from where ever we make it to (RDL or Rimouski). My new motor should be broke in by then!!! Thursday back to Derby Vt.

  10. Thats what I thought!! Another winter without good snow. I know its still early but....... I finished up work dec. 10th and wont go back until 3rd week of march. Ill be a 300lb. alcoholic if I sit around here drinking beers all winter! :drinks::drinks: Heres to hoping for something, anything?!?!
