Nice pics. Refreshing to see

Seems to me its another case of throttle jockeys hurting our sport. I cringe when I see someone spinning their studded track across the road for no reason.
I always feel a little pain whenever I see that. Fortunately it's less common in QB then in the US, in my experience. I try to not break the track free even on the trail, nevermind the road or a parking lot.

I've been watching it all week.....and the snow totals have been all over the place (mostly less than the recent forecast). So since it's literally tonight, I'm hoping their most recent forecast is their most accurate for snowfall totals.
Further east on the Gaspe getting snow too per weather.com

"The use of slip will be permitted from October 15 to May 1 on the tires or tracks of off-road vehicles covered by the Act respecting off-highway vehicles."
Does slip refer to studs? If it does, slip will be permitted during the winter months.
Am I reading this correctly?
Jack
I like your interpretation. I'm gonna go with that.

my experience away from the shore always has more so 35
That was my guess, thanks.

Looking at a map, 5 and 35 run roughly parallel.....if one was headed from RDL to Rimouski.
Do either of these two trails hold up better in low snow conditions?
-
Seems odd they'd announce it essentially on implementation (without any forewarning).

Jean-Guy......thanks so much for the update.....and the pics.

So checking the conditions here: http://sledmagazine.com/actions/showConditionsSentier?request_locale=en.....it seems many clubs updated today and many are still green (or at least yellow) in the Gaspe region.
I hope this means the rain wasn't as bad as other parts of Quebec and when coupled with this Wednesday's forecast for snow maybe things will be good for much of the region???
Any more info would be much appreciated.

It absolutely poured over night and until noon today in Pennsylvania had to be one and a half or more inches of rain
Yup. And grilling chicken in short sleeves just ain't right.

What is the local forecast JG ? Sound like riding will be on hold after this weekend or ??
Thanks !
Weather.com shows temps dropping Tue and staying down. Also shows some snow Wed for R-du-Loop and higher snow amounts (also Wed) for Gaspe (town of Gaspe). So we shall see.....fingers crossed the rain amounts aren't a washout.

Looking good.

Thx for posing. Sure is pretty.

I just called the Hotel Copper, the groomer has been out and the trails are good. It doesn't show that yet on the conditions map but the call was good enough for me. We will leave from Pointe a la Croix and do some sort of loop there somewhere, i will worry about where once the rubber hits the snow! Heading up at noon tomorrow, I should have some pictures and a bit of a report Sunday night.
Good luck and have fun.....eagerly awaiting your reports back. The northeast region still shows all red so I'm hoping you report back something more optimistic.

I think I could probably still keep up..
I'd be 1.25 miles down the trail before you started your sled in the AM.

Probably not gonna saddlebag with it.......
