We are coming up Sunday, staying at the Universal and plan on riding to Matane then taking the am ferry to Godbout and then west to the long bridge. Thanks for the weather updates.

My first trip around the Gaspe was in 2000. My last trip around was in 09. Montmagny is a good starting point. The Universal in RDL is also great 125 miles by the trail to there. Bring your swim suit and slippers. I think my favorite place is the Hotel Rimouski. There is also a girlie place in Rimouski not far from the Hotel. Hotels get smaller the further east you go. I'd avoid the one at Cross Point if possible. We called Patsy in Chandler for trail conditions. Sorry I don't have more specifics. In 08 we rode from Chandler to RDL in one day! 500 miles. Next day we rode from there to Morrisville Vermont another 500 miles! Over the years it seems as though the grooming is becoming more spotty but I still enjoyed every trip even running in dirt and in the rain it was always a great adventure.

Good job Fred: The part about riding out of Vermont was my idea and in retrospect wasn't a brainstorm, with time that memory will grow fonder I'm sure. For me the first day was the hardest. We gassed up in St Agathe around dark and the last miles to Montamgy seemed like a thousand.
The Ski Doo XP was a real pleasure to ride, handled great, very comfortable, fast and quiet, easy to steer, all around seemed like the perfect sled for the job.
Almost 1000 miles in two days made this a really special trip for me. I love long fast rides will few stops and thats just how it went.
Thirty below
500 miles of trails like this, priceless
