  1. Hey Everybody!

I know this is not a Tech Forum, but I was cleaning up the Old Etec this weekend and found the Carb Boots were Tearing and Delaminating. I know my brothers are hard on equipment, but I can not blame them for this one. So even if you sled is only 2 years old, check over the Carb Boots real good. The Dealer said it was the first ones he's seen on the XP Chassis (not sure I beleive him). Anyways they want 210+ for a set of new ones. I ordered a set from a guy in Alma, QC. 140.00 to my door.

    Later

    Thanks for the update

  4. Its looking like the group that I've been riding with won't be riding Canada this year. For me, its the best riding by far. So, this has left me looking for a riding partner or small group to join.

I ride a 2011 Skidoo 1200 TNT and my style is 100% trail, 200 - 300 miles a day, medium to high speed; I prefer saddlebagging (did Gaspe, Mont Valin and RDL trips last year) and am easy going on motels and food. Not a big drinker and don't smoke. I live in Concord, NH.

If there is interest, PM me and we can chat.

    Thanks,

    Damon

Would you consider being part of a trip with agressive riding up to Chibougamu, Senneterre and back thru the upper Mauricie to Saint-Raymond over 6 days / 1300+ miles. I have a tour starting this trip on February 19, 2012

  7. the tank holds 11.5 liters at the other stations asshole

Why would you call me an asshole, I wasn't taking a shot at you just pointing out the obvious. With your shoot first, ask questions later style,I'm glad you aren't an American representing me in Quebec.

  8. Gasoline dispensors in the U. S. are callibrated annually by the local wieghts and measures official and are sealed. IF the dealer/owner of station wants to play games, he/she must undo the seal to change the calibration. It can happen, but I think you need much more solid evidence than a cheap mass produced gas can before you acuse someone of being a crook.

Are the trails open and Groomed in St.Ray?

Thinking of getting the brothers up there over new years weekend.

How much farther is it driving than Shawinigan?

    Thanks

    GutZ

Sorry for the delay. Trails are openned and groomed in St-Ray, although riviere St-Anne is not passable yet. It is exactly 60 minutes past trois riviere.

  11. The SD dealer in St Raymond is one hell of a great guy. I'll tell you why I say this.

He and his wife where at the HI in Jonquiere a couple of years ago. There son was playing in a Pee Wee hockey tournament in Jonquiere. They had driven up. It was a Sunday morning and a large group of Quebecers had ridden in Sat night and where getting ready to leave. 4 of the group had the 1000 4 strokes. It was a very cold morning and the 4 couldn't get their machines to start. Dion Moto owner, guy from St Raymond, when out and helped all 4 get the sleds going. That spoke volumes to me as to what kind of a guy he is. He was on his way to the hockey game and he told his wife to wait for him while he helped these folks. He was probably late for the game but helped out these folks and put them before himself. Don't find many people like that these days.

Mario is the owner of Dion, and is a first class guy. He is a rugged outdoors man (his grandfather was the personal hunting guide for Teddy Roosevelt after he left office), A great business guy and good friend of mine. Stand up guy as evidenced by the help he offered the folks at the Holiday Inn.

  12. I am selling my sled this sunday & will be needing to rent for this year's trip to Quebec.

Does anyone know of a good place to rent newer sleds for a 4 day saddle trip? It doesn't matter where as I havent planned a loop yet.

    Thank you.

I can set you up with the dealer I use in Saint-Raymond. Quality sleds, no surprises at return and fair price

  13. We are planning a trip for this winter and I would like to visit Old Quebec City while there. I know you cannot ride there so I will drive to do that part. From a snowmobiling stand point of view I am thinking I need to stay about 1 hour north of Quebec. We prefer a cabin, on a lake would be nice but not a requirement, off the beaten path yet food and gas close by. We are seniors that enjoy nature, ride 150 miles a day yet enjoy exploratory trails. I would appreciate any advice you might have.

    Thanks in advance, Mike

I would suggest town of Saint-Raymond. roughly 40 mins bv car from old quebec. Many trail choices and all 4 manufactures have good dealers in town. I can recommend some high end log cabins nearby and a great hotel in old quebec. I run tours in quebec, so I am familiar with the area.
