  1. I just received a short email from Bernard's wife Jocelyne only saying that Bernard passed away, July 02. 2008

I don't know more than that.

Terrible news, this is a loss to our sport.. He will be missed.

  2. still trying to figure out what to do for next year. THought I had found an 08 Renegade 600 with 800 miles but the guy had just sold it. THe 4 stroke does interest me as it's basically the same weight as my 05 so I wouldn;t miss the light feeling like I would coming from an XP

my '08 renegade 600sdi is for sale.. It is at Garneau's now. If I can get a decent price for it I will get a E-tec.

I like a light sled, always have. The 08 feels much lighter than the 05. I will stay with Doo 2 strokes.

  3. Rob,

Are you happy with that xp renegade so far, was thinking of going in that direction next year. Is the 600 sufficient for power?? Does it push in the corners?? I rode an etech for a day and I loved it. Reliability??? Any comments appreciated.

Yes all in all I am very happy with the XP Gade. The 600 is enough for me, and in the XP chassis is faster than my 05 600sdi Renegade. It pushes less than the 05, which is saying it pushes very little. In fact it rails, never had a sled that corners this well. The seating position is just super.

I had a minor issue with the check engine light coming on. It was traced to the RAVE valves, although nothing was found wrong, other than my valves were stuck after only 3400 miles. Now that they were cleaned it is back to running like new. I am using the Doo semi-syn oil, and I'm not impressed with it, considering how dirty the valves were.

And the one gripe I have concerns the seat.. It is hard and the sticky material makes it worse IMO. Seat feels like a cement bench on a long ride and needs to be addressed. Other than that one gripe I love it. :yahoo:

  4. and this final pic deserves an explanation...

We come upon a car on the trail, front wheels slowly turning while stuck. Turns out not only did the young couple drive onto the trail and get stuck, but then proceeded to somehow lock themselves out of the vehicle, while it was in gear and front wheels slowly spinning as the engine idled!!! It was quite a sight

  5. Nice pics Rob...............came right through there Sunday..................great conditions up there huh? Gonna be in Qc Sunday to week from Monday............not sure where but somewhere.

Great conditions now, but they are saying +8C and rain here for monday, so I will prob head home then. Colder weather to follow for the rest of the week so it shouldn't do much damage to the trails.

  6. I hold out a very warm welcome to ALL sledders here on this site. Regardless of what problems and issues have occurred on other sites, I believe this site will do very well in it's primary intended purpose...That being a useful tool for snowmobilers that ride in Quebec, be they French or English speaking. However, this site is open to anyone that finds any interest in the people and subjects discussed here, and everyone is welcome. If interested in NH snowmobiling, also check out another site I am pleased to say that I'm involved with, www.SledNH.com

We have avoided having "brand forums" here to eliminate the brand bashing and fighting that inevitably results. But since you asked, I am extremely pleased with my new XP Renegade. It handles like its on rails, much improved over the original REV. And the seating position is just fabulous, especially for taller riders. I love it more each ride. I have over 3000 miles and I've had none of the issues that have been posted on other sites. It has ran perfect with no problems. I have just one small gripe, the seat needs more/better padding.

Stick around and enjoy the site! :drinks:

  7. Also should say that yesterday was one of the windiest days up here I can remember, and that combined with the 6" new snow made for challenging conditions. By this morning, nearly everything had been groomed and the weather was clear and cold, a beautiful day!
