  1. Or ask Michigan Rev

I rode with him 2 weeks again in the Lac St Jean region

Hi Ray, had a great time, I knew I was in good hands when everybody I was riding with a GPS but me, LOL

When it comes to riding in the UP it's when you ride that is key. Let me start by saying the UP is no Quebec, not even close. But with that said the UP can be good. Before I started riding in Quebec I had spent years riding the whole UP. It was the challenge of riding in a different area that drove me to Quebec. One of the major differences is the amount of connector trails. In Quebec, even on the busiest days you can get out and away from the crowds if you choose, it is so vast. Sometimes in the UP if you want to get from point A to point B you might only have one choice. I would say the trails are better marked in Michigan than Quebec. In Michigan all intersections are clearly marked to help you decide which way you want to go and orange trail markers to remind you are on a trail. Also alot of "you are here" maps located on the trails. Just yesterday we drove 2 hours north to Grayling (in the lower penisula) started there and rode north to the Mackinac Bridge. We rode 226 miles and the trails were some of the best I've ridden in Michigan. All were perfectly groomed and we probably seen 15 sleds all day long, BUT that was a Tuesday in March, so again timing is the key. I think if your looking for something different and your trip includes some midweek riding you won't disappointed in what the UP has to offer. I hope this helps, best of riding wherever you decide, after all, any riding is good riding.

  2. Bill, made it home ok. No problems through Toronto and then it started to snow. The last 4 hours were interesting to say the least. I arrived home around 11:30 p.m. We have about 5-6 inches of wet snow here. Thanks again for another great time. I enjoyed riding with you, 182ray, favorcat and Jack and Sandi (Jack get the X). I enjoyed meeting and talking to snomogary, pat and the gang. Great memories for sure! Thanks again, I appreciate it. Tell JD hi,

  3. Ha, ha Jim, brings back memories. lol We knew we were in trouble when the room to our door had a big boot print hole in it and the numbers to the room didn't match, but the topper was when we could here the guy snoring and burping in the next room. At least I can say I was in Parent once. I can laugh about it now. Sometimes ya gotta do, what ya gotta do. Dave

  4. I rember hearing a story about that place from MichaganREV. Nice place to visit.

  5. Bill, 182Ray, Farmerold, Sig and John are on a saddlebag mission to Sept Iles. They may not get a chance to post every night.

Yesterday we rode to Scooby Raid for the Gathering. The trails on the north side of the river are excellent.

I rode with the Gutz brothers today. We took 383 south for 60 miles to the junction with 83. There we made a u-turn and rode 83 back to the Delta. 383 was perfect except for the 4 mile re-route below Ferland which goes around a landowner that didn`t give permission this year. 83 was very good.

The forecast for today was 20-25 centimeters of snow and high winds. This morning it was windy and some light snow but it ended before noon. The weather this afternoon was very nice. Tonight the wind and snow are picking up again. There is still a storm warning for the area.

    Jack & (Sandi)

Thanks for posting Jack, I need my daily Quebecrider "fix".

  6. Yesterday Snowmogary, SnowMouse and I only rode a 1/2 day as they had to return the rental sleds to Evasion. I rode 110 miles on great trails. Picked up Snowmogary and Snow Mouse at Evasion with my truck, had dinner with them last night and we took them to the bus station this morning. They are going to Montreal by bus and then fly back to London.

Today I am doing maintenance on my 09 and then going to take my wife out for the afternoon. She and Greta have been in the hotel since Feb 06. What a wife I have.

Yes you are a blest man Bill, you know what they say "behind every good man.....", and tell JD thanks for sharing you with all of of us sledheads. I think I can speak for most and say we appreciate all you do for the sport, you get my vote for the number 1 Ambassador of Snowmobling. Tell JD hi, and thanks for taking the time to post, I read them every day.
