  1. Doc and I rode 175 miles today. Took him down to Anse St Jean to the look out on the Saguenay. Temp today got up to 36 here at the HS. We had 4" of fresh snow last night/this early AM.

Bill, Wow, what a differnce a couple days make, -20 on Sunday to 36 today. When I was there I wondered if it ever gets warm in paradise. Enjoy! Dave

  2. Bill, I made it home with no problems, 13.5 hours, but the trails in paradise are alot smoother than some of those roads, LOL. Thanks again for the great week, had alot of fun riding with all. Lifetime memories for sure! Say Hi to all there, Thanks Again, Dave

    Coke? Pepsi! Coke? Pepsi! Coke?

  3. Hi Dave,

We are heading up Friday for our first trip! Happy trails and nice to meet you at the H.I. last year.

    Wes

    Hey Wes,

Best of luck on that 1st trip. I've seen where you've switched from Doo to Cat, keep an eye on the gas guage, LOL. What's your destination for the 1st trip? Will you be around the H.I. in February?

    Ride Safe

    Dave

  4. Hi Dave

Looking forward to seeing you in February. Anyone coming with you this year? Happy New Year.

    Bill

    Hey Bill,

Not sure yet if I have any takers for this year. Either way I hope to be there. Haven't ridden here in Michigan yet, still looking for snow. Have a safe trip up to paradise and we'll see you in February.

    Dave

  5. Thanks to all who post, I enjoy reading them and watching the videos. Jack and Sandi thanks for the detailed reports. When you can't be there enjoying the riding, the next best thing is to read about those who are. :) Bill, looking forward to your posts in the coming weeks. Hope to be there in paradise in February. Happy New Year to all QR's. Think snow and lots of it.....Dave

  6. I am selling Quebec Trail Passes again this year for the CARIBOU-CONSCRITS SNOWMOBILE CLUB and the SAGUENAY SNOWMOBILE CLUB. As in the past 100% of the dollars I collect goes to the respective club.

The price for sesonal passes are:

Seasonal pass On or Before December 09, 2010 is $240

Seasonal pass After December 09, 2010 is $300

    Weekly pass is $180

    3 day pass is $100

If you choose not to buy a pass and you are caught riding on the trail the cost is $400.

I will accept either a check or PayPal.

You need to supply the following info:

Your name and address with zip code, phone number and email address.

Snowmobile make, model, plate number and serial number.

If paying by check make check out to me. My mailing address is:

    Bill McFarlane

    PO Box 446

    Franconia, NH 03580

The only way these clibs receive money for grooming is by you purchasing your trail pass from them. There is no big pot tha the $ go into and then it is divided up among all the clubs. THE $ FOR OPERATING THE CLUB ONLY COMES FROM THE TRAIL PASSES THAT THEY SELL.

Hey Bill, soon as I find out whose able to go this year and we finalize plans, I'll order our permits from you. Hope to see you this winter, Dave

  7. Good for you Bill!

Beth & I are at cabin now, going over to Howards today to check out my 2011 GSXSE-Red.

Hey Deano, I see you and Bill are getting the same sled. GSXSE= heated seats and tilt steering. Nice. You guys will be mighty comfortable while riding the best trails in the world this winter. Hoped to see you guys this winter. Dave

  8. There are some rumors up here in Québec that farmers are talking of a possible movement that they will block any access to their properties to snowmobilers next season.Again it is a battle between some Farmer's union against the Québec government where the snowmobilers will be taken as hostages. There is a press release but unfortunately it is french but it gives you a good grasp of the situation.

    http://www.laction.com/Actualites/2010-07-15/article-1569937/Les-agriculteurs-en-colere/1

Maybe groomer can translate for us, Thanks groomer, Dave

  9. Time to play "Where Am I". I'll start.

    post-2-031478900 1280316184_thumb.jpg

I don't know exactly where that's at, but when I saw that picture my right thumb started to get itchy. Great picture Bill. Nothing like looking at snowmobile pictures on a hot July day. Keep em coming, Dave

  10. Nice rainbow-never saw that before on trail.

(dumb me-1st time I looked at the pic,I was like wow-nice trail! )

Hey Dean, How's it going? I have to admit the 1st time I looked at the picture I thought the same thing, nice trail or is there an animal somewhere in the brush.

  11. Hey Ray, that's pretty neat, you don't see that to often in the winter. Enjoyed riding with you and Mikerider and racersinc this year, maybe next year if we get to ride together we will both be on our new 800 ETEC's :good: Take care, Dave

  12. X2 here, made it back to Michigan with no problems. Had a great time. It's nice to be around people who have the same passion for snowmobiling that you do. Bill, thanks for everything, it's nice following behind a guy who doesn't need a map! It was also nice to put faces with names here on Quebecrider.com. Mikerider and 182Ray and racersinc, it was nice to meet you guys and we enjoyed riding with you. Also enjoyed riding with the Ontario guys, Al, Kevin and Larry. A special thanks to Larry who towed me the 11 miles back to the HI when I ran out of gas. I'll fix that problem by next year, I'll get a new sled! Again, thanks to all, already looking forward to next year, Dave

  13. Just another day here in PARADISE. This morning it was -7F in the sled area when I started my sled up. Crossed the Saguenay River in St Charles and the temp was -18F. Arond noon time it got up to 10F and tonight when we came in it was -10F. But it was an I B day. We did the `Tour du Lac St Jean`run, 250 miles. Fabulous day.

Well, I'm glad it's cold somewhere, I'm sitting here 1 hour south of Paradise, Michigan and it's 38F and light rain, not good. But glad to here the ridings good there, enjoy all your posts Bill, look forward to them everyday. Dave

  14. Today Fireboy, Jim, Eugene and I put on 240 miles doing the Tour du Lac St Jean. We got around the lake very well. trails were very good. 240 miles in 8 hours of riding with 3 gas stops, 3 pee breaks. You guys need to come on up. Don't hold back riding is great.

Was there a lunch break in that ride? That's a pretty good day there Bill, did you stay on the 93 all the way around? Dave

  15. I needed a new pair of bibs for this season, and on the recommendation by Saguenay Bill in some posts last year I picked up a pair of Choko Extreme pants. By far the warmest bibs I've ever worn, I had a chance to test them out in some sub-zero temps in Northern Michigan yesterday and they passed all tests. When going from stand-up riding to stitting I didn't have that cold, damp feeling that I had with my other bibs that were only a couple of years old. Thanks again Bill, hope to see you around the first part of February! Dave
