  1. Been there before

X2 on nice place and service

2 yrs back we drove up from MTL and stayed there, when registering the clerk asked us for our car keys. We asked why, he told us they offer a rescue service, should you break down anywhere on the penninsula they will have someone drive your truck to come and pick you up.

Well low and behold one of us did break down in MSP and had to make the call, worked out great. Nice to have when you're way out and stranded.

    I will be back!

FYI, Joann who owns Chez Charle in St Anne De Beaupre will also provide rescue with your truck and trailer. Shes a big rider who is known to ride 300 miles a day, solo. She lost her access a couple of yrs ago,,, but you can park 1/4 mile away as the crow fly's, in a farmers SAFE parking lot, loaded (20-30 - weekends) with locals - yokels trucks + trailers, with camps out in the woods, $10 bucks /per day. $69 usd, for a 2 bed room condo. Nice lady.

  2. Hey Michael,

Did you get a new sled?

    Tom

Yes, yellow + black. You only get one strike if you breakdown + leave me 1200 miles down the trail from my truck 8) I was a day behind you guys till you crossed back down over the river to RDL, last week. I was hope-in to bump into you guys around LSJ. I got 1700 miles on the new 800 etec so far. Not sure if Im going to the gathering in March. I have a 7- 10 day tour from Val-Dor, to northern Ont (Hearst- Wawa) down to the UP,,, in hard pencil, around that time frame. Want to go............ :clapping: Depends on snow in southern Ont. And my un - reliable "sources" :air_kiss: in Alma tell me the "Red Light" is Freme. Stay in touch with your future touring plans. Michael

  3. No ice crossing that we know of. Radar tried to find a way down to the river all dead ends , he did sniff out the duty free for some cheap beer. The look on his face when he got back with his stash and realized he bought 8 oz cans instead of 12oz

    Was priceless! LOL

Confusing to find the river crossing, on un - marked back streets. But follow sled tracks (if any) to the gas station across the street from the SAQ. Cross street into + through SAQ parking lot which has 1-2 other stores. 20-30 yrds you are at a little park-beach on the river. South side of the bridge, thats where you jump on to cross it . Locals use a little trail down river some where.
