    ha !! ha !! that s for sure !!

here s one from park matane ,videotaped last october .because of the rack (can t find the word in english ) it could be potencially a world record .

    groomer !!!

WOW!!! That was incredible. Potential world record for atypical, meaning not a normal rack, many extra points and mass. If that thing is still

running around, I would love to find it. Groomer, if you hear that it was shot, try to find the story, if any, on the hunt. Is that a hunting outfitter?

Would be interested in info on moose hunts. Haven't been on a good hunting trip in quite awhile.

  2. Yup...I'm doing it right now!! This sucks!! But wait, it's going to be 80 degrees this weekend here in Massachusetts and my 2006 Road King is ready to go - woohoo!!!

I think there's still snow in Alaska Greasemonkey!

Yup, getting the quads ready, 80 degrees here this weekend, also.

Alaska, hmmmmmm.....probably would be a great experience, but, if I went there, it would be to hunt.

  3. LOL I still rememeber looking at that BIG map at LeCabon and saying lets go to Chibougamau back in the early 90's and a young guy and we would all laugh..... But now have been there a few times like it is nothing... The mistek is gone LOL. Now need a new place to shoot for. How about Radison ?? anyone been there??

I read a story about some guys that rode to Radison. It's defiantly a trip that you must research and plan well in advance. Might not hurt to hire a local guide to take along. Have to carry your own gas. Some spare parts wouldn't hurt. Probably a very exciting and rewarding trip, though. I'm sure the scenery and wildlife must be phenomenal. Better take 4 strokes!

  4. They may have gotten loose from a dog sled and found you in hopes of some scooby snacks...Lol...Def. not wolf. Wild dogs ??? Prob. wouldn't come running at you...

I don't know, we've had packs of wild dogs on the farm and we've had to shoot some because they were trying to attack. Maybe they were rabid?

  5. Wild dogs can be just as bad. With more and more wolves being spotted in many areas, it's possible that inbreeding with domestic Huskies and Shepherds is going to start happening, especially in the remote areas like you're talking.

  6. Hey Groomer, or anybody that's done it. Thinking of doing a trip around Gaspe' by car someday. Just seeing the road in the areas that you do when snowmobiling, it seems like a great trip, almost all coastal. Approximately how many miles by car is it around? Would probably start from RDL, go around, and start heading back south through NB into Houlton, Me. Would love to stay at some of the little B&B's that surround the peninsula. Like that one in Petite Vallee right on the St. Lawrence.

I just realized that I'm talking about a summer trip in the beginning of March! Wasn't much of a winter for me. The fat lady is starting to sing for this year.

  7. Awesome wolf encounter. Once had a Bobcat, or Lynx sitting in the middle of the trail in Tremblant. Wouldn't move. We stopped, got off the sleds and all walked around taking pics. He finally got up, walked off the trail about 5 feet and walked parallel to us to the back of us then got back up on the trail and sat down again. Totally ignoring us. Guess he was waiting for a snowshoe rabbit or something to cross. Mad as hell that I can't find the pics anywhere. Just some more reasons to enjoy snowmobiling.

  8. Im glad you girls kissed and made up!

Oooooohh, that should bring a cordial comment.

Hey Shane, I see where you're from, ever go to Forge? Have you been there this year at all? I usually take 1 or 2 trips up there with the family. I'll be there next week. I was wondering if the conditions have really improved at all.

  9. Here i am :D

Sorry for the delays but I was a little busy in the last days

I have not ride myself since the rain up there but all ride reports I have seen (many) on the french forums said that the conditions are from good to excellent, alot better that before the rain. They get between 8"-12" new snow on the very hard base left by the rain. Many trails have been report "like a race track", very very good. The south of Lanaudiere received just few inches of snow and is very icy, so don't go too south if you want to keep in the better conditions.

Here the link for officiel trail conditions: http://www.snowmobilecountry.ca/en/index.jsp?numPage=235

I don't ear about the sunken sleds on Lac Taureau but it is really possible. The Taureau Lake is a big reservoir that is lowered around 30' from december to april. It mean that it freeze at high level and the ice drop down on the bottom of the lake that had a very irregular relief, similar as the mountains around.... in reverse pattern. If you ride on the trail link between auberge du lac taureau and St-Michel des Saints, it should be no problem because it is a very deep part of the reservoir and the ice is still on water and the daily sled traffic since december have raise the ice thickness at a more than safe level.

But if you try to explore other parts of the reservoir, it can be very dangerous because you don't really know how strong is the ice cover under your sled, or if there is a 10' air gap between the ice and the water because of big rocks supporting the ice cover on just some points ... you see the picture... I had ride myself few years ago on some parts of the lake and it is very attractive because of this relief but it is also to much dangerous...

    :drinks:

    Alain

Can't get any better of a report than that. Very interesting about that lake.

  10. Hi Alain

It was good riding. good and froze up and some ice but what the hell. out to St Jean De-Matha was smooth and 63 back up to 350 no problem

St come village was a little rough and bare but still okay. Back up to the park on 341 was fine the groomers are working well

Were the trail conditions in St. Come village a little bare, or conditions inside the bar?

  11. we are headed for real masse's in st zenon! Can anyone say how the conditions are and the snow depths?

How are the conditions? Thank you

Alain? Any reports? Interested myself. The member named "towing", (Alain), usually posts about this region weekly. Wait for his next report.

  12. The guy is supposedly from SE Pa next town over from me here in Pa.

I am simply looking for information, information i received was sketchy....... so i wanted to ask for news - if anyone has heard anything.

On the web i found these two articles first one and this one

GOD, that sucks. Hope for the best. 2 dealers that I know from the York area, a Doo dealer and a Yamaha dealer have guys up there all the time. Sounds to me like that river is not a river you should ride on, it's tidal with a 15' difference in tides. They would have had to be off trail. A definite no-no. For your sake, I hope you didn't know him. For his family and friends, keep your fingers crossed and pray. KEEP US POSTED ON THIS. It's very unfortunate but, it could also be a valuable lesson that all should consider.
