  1. David Charles Berube (Davemod04) died tuesday May 3 in Long Island N.Y. of injuries sustained in an aircraft accident. His girlfriend Dana Parenteau also perished in the accident along with a third passenger Benjamin Lane Bridges. The article states they had left South Carolina and were headed back to Robertson airport in Plainville,C,T. when the Beachcraft V35B broke apart midflight over the town of Syosset N.Y...... The article continues," An acomplished pilot,Berube was recognized by the federal aviation administration a few years ago for exceeding the high educational, licensing and medical standards set by the FAA. He was included in the prestigous FAA Airman Certification Database, which appears on the agency's website. I had only met Dave once at the races in N.H. My prayers to his family and the others involved. Martin

  2. I was recently at the grass drags in Fremont N.H. the races were canceled on Saturday because of the rain. This gave me plenty of time to check out the different vendors, of course I stopped in to see our friend Bill at the Saguenay-Lac St Jean tourism booth. I think I spent the better part of 30min. talking with QR members, and escaping the rain in the booth and before I left Bill reminded me to sign up for the free raffle. It was for a Choko snowmobile suite,of which I'm a fan and it was a free chance. I don't usually sign up for raffles, always thinking " I'll never win". Well I guess the luck was with me on this day because I'm the winner of the snow suit. It's the Choko trailstar jacket and pants, looks and fits great! Thanx Bill for pointing out the raffle,it's always nice to see you but this visit was a little sweeter.

  3. Hi Dave, The Lamtrac sled is a supercharged 03 RX-1. It went 210.3mph, my friends at SCM Racing were there to certify the speed record. I believe they used three sources to verify the accuracy, and the driver had to make two passes showing speeds within a certain percentage of each other. I bet the driver tightened his chin strap a little extra on this day.. Martin

  4. Hi Greg, definttely a great weekend. I too started going in the mid 80's and it was a real party atmospher with many things going on.

  5. Moonbeam and Fraserdale have a combined population of about 32. HAHAHA I caught my largest northern pike at the foot of Fraserdale dam. When I spent time there in the late 70's early 80 there were no groomed trails,we would ride the logging roads to remote camps. I thought my 1980 Everest was the best, how times change......

  6. Nice pic Coldsmoke, I can't say I'm enjoying the snowfall. We got 10" to 12" of heavy snow that snapped tree tops all over and pulled the electrical service off of my house :(. I have'nt had power since 3pm on Sat. and I'm not expecting it to be restored till the end of the week. So we are heating the house with the wood stove and playing board games. The odd thing is that at 9am. on Sat. I was mowing my lawn.

  7. Welcome Aboard Hossenda, You have a great trip ahead of you. Like Coldsmoke mentioned earlier, leaving northern Me. is a good option and you will have "peace of mind" in regard to your vehichle.Cross over in Fort.Kent through N.B.,the 85 along Lac Temiscouata is :good::good: have your paper work in order and enjoy.........
