  1. As some of you know, I had won the clucth tool kit at the QR summer Get Together in 08.

A good friend of mine helped me doo a lot of PM on my sled that summer and the sled ran great 08/09 season.

We was able to take apart, clean and inspect the secondary clucth.

However, when we tried to remove the primary clucth, it would not move.

We poured boiling water on the clucth to expand it while putting a lot of pressure on the removal bolt, but it would not move at all. So we left it alone.

Started to work on sled again, getting her ready for the 09/10 season,

After looking at the primary clucth, I noticed it's full of belt debris.

Blew a belt last season , now I know where all the belt debris went, the clucth is loaded big time.

I want to take the clucth off, but don't want to break the crank.

Any tips on how to safely remove? any help would be great........

  2. It's a worse idea with a new sled...but that's what a sat-phone is for.

That sounds like a good 4-day trip, how about next weekend?

Ossipee NH to Pittsburg, to QC, to the HI to the Gov, over the 3 bridge's and back to the states. 6 days.

There could be another nor'easter comming this weekend, so conditions could be at there best for that trip.

I am in, but I hope I can't (You know what I mean) will talk to you next week.......

Smart move. Even on a new sled riding alone is not a smart idea. Too many things can happen.

Thats what I was thinking Bill, 2 years ago I would have gone in a minute, but a couple years older and a little wiser? Not a good idea.

Some day I will hook up with someone who wants to doo it! :good:

  4. What area, was up there 2 out of the last 3 weekends.

Was thinking of riding across the border in Pittsburg NH and taking trail 65 thru Lac Meganic to 55 to 75 up to QC to the river crossing service.

I am sure its good now after this last storm?

But! I chickened out  because it would have been a solo trip and my sled is getting up there in miles.

    Someday......

  5. ..... By the way gtse800, On sat am at the ho-jo did you see the 4 guys from NH who all got in a big pile up in NB on the 17 rail bed. There was a totalled f 1000 in a truck with NH tags. One guy broke his pelvis and was in the hospital still?

No, I did not see that, unforunatey I was unable to make the trip, will be headed up sometime this week.

Supprised you was able to doo that many miles with all the break downs, it makes it interesting to say the least.
