  1. yesterday morning, while taking my breakfast ,i heard from a rimouski radio station ,that the ice hotel is going to move to quebec city.

the promoter wants to install it at the old zoo in quebec city.

checked on the french forum and no threads about that yet .

    groomer !!!

    Bonjour groomer

where abouts was the old zoo then? we will have one night in QC before we fly home next February and it would be good to see it in its new location.

    Thanks

    Gary

  2. [quote name='groomer' date='29 July 2010 - 06:50 PM' rs talking about

don t know at all where she took those stats ,she had written that our town was the town in pq where they were selling the most beers per capita !!!!....and i believe that .

    jean-guy :drinks:

Can well believe it, looking at the pics! :drinks:

  3. This pic was taken on 93 east, about 5 miles from the Valinouet ski area. I have been told by the locals that this is where the most snow accumulates on Mont Valin.

Showed Pat the pic Bill and she's now checking flight prices every day in hopes they will come down soon - can't wait to be there in February.

  4. Great photo's as usual groomer, even with a new camera and too much wine !!! I will get Snowmouse (the wife) to post her photo of the black bear we saw when we were having breakfast at Wendells with some of the other QR's after the QR meet last week and I will give you $100 if you can actually spot the bear!!!!

    Gary <_<

  5. Once again fantastic pictures and Snowmouse says thanks for the bobcat info. We kept our eyes peeled for wildlife when we were in Vermont and NH last October but only saw wild turkey's and 1 chipmonk! God knows what we would do if we actually saw a bear tho !

  6. Groomer, wife (snowmouse) wants to know about bobcat's. when are you most likely to see them, are they aggressive or like most wild things run when they see you, how big are they? Sorry so many questions but the nearest thing we have in the U.K. is a 'wild cat' similar colour to bobcat but about the size of our dog around 19 inches at shoulder. Thanks

    Gary

  7. i for one would be willing to chip into groomers camera fund i have injoyed your pics for years now and if anyone here that could give say like 10 bucks each to help out someone that dos so mutch for us

    the list

    1 COLDSMOKE 10.00

That would have been a great idea coldsmoke and we would have been more than happy to chip in but I guess you have to respect groomer's wishes. We just love seeing his photo's here in the U.K.

  8. Yup...I'm doing it right now!! This sucks!! But wait, it's going to be 80 degrees this weekend here in Massachusetts and my 2006 Road King is ready to go - woohoo!!!

Yep still checking out the site.

80degs in MA this weekend !!! We just been told severe weather in N. Ireland (1ft snow!) and Scotland for this weekend and no sleds for hire here in the U.K. !!!!!

    How sad is that

  9. I don't want to excuse the poor guy, his mistake cost him his life but here is what's happened...

Those who had rode the area in the past years will remember that the official trail was crossing there few years ago and it was only a 2 lanes road at that time, the trail have been reroute and cross a little souther now.

This guy and his partner were riding off-trail and they decided to cross the road at that place where the road have been reworked in a four lane road. The median strip between the two ways had a good 6' bank of snow that blind the view of the other way to the guy... you see the picture... the guy crossed the first way and had think he had crossed the whole road, then blip the throttle to jump the bank and then land in the middle of the other way =@

The big error was to jump the bank without really knowing what was on the other side..... but guys....who's one in us never do stupid things.... Let's try to remember this case before the next stupid thing that cross our mind...

Sympathy to all families affected

That's really bad, as you say a sad reminder to us all !

  10. Safe Journey home Bill.

Once again Bill thanks for all the advice and help and trips out we did with you. You, JD & Greta made a good holiday even better (despite the couple of bed sleds we had). Hope next seasons is a longer one!

See you in July at the QR meet.

    Gary & Snowmouse

  11. Back home again in the U.K. after 3 days in Quebec City, where there was virtually no snow.

Can't thank everyone, old friends and new, enough for making our annual 2 weeks at the HI sooo..... good, when it could have been a bit of a bummer - 5 different rental sleds in total while we where there ! Next year we will give Evasion a try for a change! Mrs. SnomoGary (now officially SNOWMOUSE) says perhaps she won't be worn out after only 70 miles next year if she gets a decent sled to ride Bill.

Bill and JD (& Greta) thanks so much for everything - the riding, the advice and the great Choko clothing - it worked a treat.

Joel sorry we never got to sit down for a chat and buy you a drink, perhaps at the summer gathering of the QR we can rectify that!

    Gary & Pat

Bill sorry just realised I have hi-jacked the pinned trail conditions thread with these posts - it won't happen again.

  12. Home safely this afternoon, great travelling weather. Already back to work.

Thanks to Bill and Juledele for always making me feel welcome and 'at home' at the HI.

Trip of a lifetime with 182Ray.

Great riding with so many of you before and after our saddlebag trip, old friends and new.

Hope to see you all again soon.

    Mike

Mike it was good to see you again at the HI - maybe see you at the next summer gathering of the Quebec Riders in July?

    Gary

  13. Hi Gary,

We are leaving theHI in the next couple days to do a saddlebag trip toards >Ontario. Will Be back to the HI to get out trucks and will probably see you then. Riding is awesome.

    Mike

    Mike,

have a good trip, hope weather stays kind for you, if only we had the time and lived as close to Paradise as you all do, we'd be saddlebagging with you. Few drinks in the bar before we both leave for home hopefully then.

    Gary

  14. Gary,

How long will you be there? We are coming in on Feb 14. Joel

    Hi Joel

We are arriving late night on the 7th Feb and leaving to go to Quebec on the 16th, for a few days before flying home on the 19th.

Look forward to meeting up with you while you are there, we owe you and Bill a drink for sorting our Choko gear for us.

  15. Today was almost 300 miles and every inch groomed to perfection. Very cold out. We went around the lake, then did an extra loop around Girardsville. Ate lunch at a new place, new to us, called Relais Club Pacheur outside Girardsvile. Awesome meal and priced cheap. New favorite place, nice building and on a lake. Had dinner at Skippy Doo and back to the HI.

Hi Mike, been good to read your reports, are you still going to be there when Pat & I come out next Sunday ?

    Gary

    Nottingham, U.K.
