I have a Yamaha Viper, the other 4 usually ride with all have ski-doos.

Not fun on the -30 C morning when my Yamaha won't start because of a simple fuel relay while buddies are all geared up ready to roll. If the Fuse box was accessible wouldn't be big deal to throw a warm relay in. Some genius engineer put the fuse box under a hood that is a major pain to remove in a warm shop.

They didn't fix the relay issue yet? The 2006 Apex had that issue, i figured it was resolved by now but still an issue with the Viper?

  2. I know the older owners of ScoobyRaid were sentenced to jail time this past year(2016). I remember a post about it being sold a year or 2 ago however nothing since. We had a great trip and stayed there for a couple nights back in 2012/2013 timeframe and a younger couple were running the place (not sure if they were trying to buy it or what). Does anyone know whatever happened to them (another place maybe?) and what happened or is happening to the property?

  3. Probably true Chris on the better half.

Let it be known. Belinda is a trooper, and all the ladies in the Triggerhappy crew certainly are "riders" no doubt. They can all ride.

Certainly was a "freak little accident" and could happen to anyone.

    Heal up Belinda.

Exact same thing happened to me a couple years ago up around Mt Valin. Crossing tracks in town about 2 mph and the dooly's squared up to the rail and stopped me instantly, throwing me up and off the sled. Hurt like hell and was completely unexpected. I now have a fear of crossing tracks and always try to make sure I cross with as little weight on the skies as possible. My ribs were sore for a couple days from the handlebar contact but otherwise I was spared anything broken.

  4. Is there a reason to consider the road vs the trail? Unless the trail was shutdown for a reason why not just stay on the trail and ride?

Don't get me wrong, I've jumped on the local berm many a time if the trail alongside is beat all to heck and back but otherwise I figured I wouldn't make out so well with a log truck.

  5. Yeah no sh**. Things are going to hell in a handbag here. If this dont't turn around soon and we get no real snow this season will be over in most parts, even though it never really got going like we are used to this season. Gonna be a very short season everywhere.

Safe trip guys I know you will have happy trails.

Looks very cold NEXT week. No season yet In my backyard in North Central PA. Was just talking over the weekend how this could be my first rideless season in 10 yrs of doing this.

  6. Really though to cancel rooms and trips? Each of us spend thousands on snowmobile trips each year for our own enjoyment but your willing to give it all up at the drop of a hat for $100 fine. Don't get me wrong if no one puts up a fight it won't get changed but if you are not having enough fun to spend another $100 you are doing it wrong.

Yea, but how many roads do you cross a day? I doubt it will happen but you could be looking at many fines over a given week. Not worth it to me, No Quebec this year if they don't change it. A lot of people buy their passes when they go up so this will definitely hurt permits sales

  7. Seems to me its another case of throttle jockeys hurting our sport. I cringe when I see someone spinning their studded track across the road for no reason.

My favorite is the Yamaha Apex's trying to backup at gas pumps with the studs. It seems with those sleds in particular when the clutch engages the RPM's are already so high that it sits there and spins. Kind of hard to feather that throttle. My GSX can be the same way if I grab too much thumb too quickly.

  8. We had a great trip however I lost my phone so no pics!

We ended up just staying in a cabin at mekoos for whole trip. Never really rode the local trails in that area and they were all perfect. Most of the time we were the only tracks on the freshly groomed trails. Not sure how they did that but everything, and I mean everything was groomed flat and wide. Very cold for March except for the last day. Mekoos is second to none! They treated us like guests and the food was spectacular. The owner even had the chef cook us some of his personal Moose, Pheasant, and Red Deer for an appetizer the last night. We didn't do huge miles but we were all pretty much ear to ear smiles on those trails. Issue is that some places are closed during the week so it's making it a little tricky trying to get from place to place due to fuel. Club Scott is closed for the season and from what we heard maybe not open at all next year. We were going to do a 2 hour dog sled trip the end of the last day but the Musher had an issue and had to cancel at the last minute so we still have that on our list of things to do! If anyone sees a phone on the trail let me know :search:

So anyways we didn't make it West but from what we rode I can't imagine we missed too much! I couldn't expect better conditions, let alone for Mid March. there's still plenty to be had for anyone looking to get another trip in.
