  1. A little trailside rebuild on spumps apex

    Really?

Just some minor repair needed. Night riders. Found the drag left on trail after groomer brokedown. Don't outride your headlights, or follow too close like the Polaris guy did here..

    Ouch, that is a nightmare.

Not broken but I owed him one. Bobler boondocking  :bc:post-60-0-29287500-1348675543_thumb.jpg

  2. I am at Malbaie and heard through an interpreter that part of trail 93 in the sacre coure area is blocked due to a frustrated farmer, It didnt sound like it was a snowmobile problem but that maybe he had some issues with the province?? Can anyone confirm, I may have mis interpreted the discussion. It supposedly happened yesterday or today??

Road Runner, I heard you rode with Denis and Todd last week........we were about 100 miles behind you guys......I rode from Sacre Couer up to Valin Sunday but we took the secondary(trapper) trail and that had some logging roads where the trail used to be........we followed our GPS and kept heading towards the old trail at any intersection and eventually found the old trail.............from there up to Valin was very good......if you havent done that trail, it's worth finding.......you head back 3 toward Les Escoumins and pick it up there. It parallels 23 most of the way but with better scenery.

  3. 182 Ray and I arrived at the Hotel Saguenay, formerly the Holiday Inn, at 1215PM today. I will be referring to the Hotel Saguenay as the HS from now on. Just as we were pulling in Farmerold and Tammi had also just pulled in. Time we ate lunch, shot the bull, unloaded luggage, and sleds it was 4PM. We will ride tomorrow but things look very rideable from what we could see from the road. Tomorrow will tell the story. Ran into 2 guys who were loading up to go back to NH and they said the riding was great.

    Bill

Hey Bill, was there last weekend and the snow is good......we rode from Ste Foy to Sacre Couer to Chapelle/Jonqiere back to Ste Foy.....700 miles all pretty good.....got lost a little on the re-reoute of the trapper trail coming out of Les Escoumins and rode some plowed road but was still ok.....see you soon.

See you Friday night. I hope the Buttpaste boys will be rolling in between 7 and 8.

Say Hi to John for me Brian.....we're riding in Maine this weekend hopefully get a chance to ride together this year........any new sleds in your crew?

  4. Spump and yes that guy didn't like his new 800 cat either ;) or so they say. the hardwood floor guy would like this trail though, of the 500 miles we rode this week, we did get about 30 miles of this!

Yah, I understand he had some issues but I think he sorted them out......he's alot of fun to ride with, never know where you might end up.

  5. First, make sure a known good device works in your lighter plug. Cell phones often blow the fuse that powers the lighter outlet.

Second, test the fuse in the new plug, there should be a .5 amp fuse in there. After that plug in your new adapter and put a voltmeter on the 4 hole plug. If you look very closely you may find there are only 2 holes with any pin connectors in them. I forget which 2 it is, 2 are for data, 2 are for voltage. You could also use a test light for this.

If all that does not check out you have found your problem. If it does all work, then I would try powering the unit up with the USB cord and a computer. If that works then I'm afraid you may have a broken pin in your GPS. I bet you will find a bad fuse.

Power at the cord but not in unit, batteries work fine but want it hard wired.

Plugging it in on an Apex? Check the Apex fuse for the accessory outlet too.

No, new Cat, tried in car and no juice in unit.

  6. How about we just say it's worth every penny! And yes...this is the best site in my opinion.

Gas in truck to get to Quebec------------------------------------------$160

    Spare belt for new Cat-----------------------------------------------------$150

Getting to ride the most beautiful terrain on Earth--------------Priceless.

  7. I am going to try the Gaspe again this year. never been there but the last two years planed on it but the snow was no good when the trip was planed. Will be trying to do it from VT this year if the snow is good. Plan to head straigh north to Canada then east to Gaspe. Anyone ever do that?. if the snow is no good I guess I will drive to the HI and base there. Will be doing eiither or starting end of Jan.

I've done it from Sherbrooke, long ways but epic adventure. HI is North of the Seaway, noy a good place to do the Gaspe from unless you go down and cross the ferry and take a left.

  8. Bill, 3 of the Buttpaste boys will be at the HI either Thursday or Friday night depending on where we can start from. All the others are on my brother.

    Brian

Brian, let me know where you end up going...........our group is looking for a place to ride mid week throughy the weekend......thanks Gary

Say hi to John Buttpaste R.
