  1. 14.4 Miles on my new Blizzard! :yahoo: My twitchy thumb is better except for the fact I bent it backwards working on a local trail when I fell yesterday.

Miles were but on in my hayfields, no stones, only about 2 in. of snow but HeY. IT FELT GOOD! Now let's hope for a big PV to cool things down.

  2. Hi Bill,

I would like to attend. This will be my first GATHERING. I will let you know soon, how many of my "SNOWBUDS" will be joining me.

I will be 73 by then and am looking forward to finally meeting and riding with you.

I just got my Snowchecked sled. 2016 MXZ Blizzard 900 Ace. Already modifying suspension.

    What are you riding know?

    Jeff

  3. Four of us have tried to tour Abitibi-Matagami twice before only to have to cancel.

Tomorrow we plan to truck sleds to Le Domaine in Gran Remous. leave Sat. AM on 63 to 386, have lunch and get gas at Relais Kitsisavik, then to stay overnight at Hotel Forestel near Val d or. Next day up west side 396 and stay at Hotel Matagami, next day down east side on 396 to a motel ( don't know the name) near Louvicort or Lac Simon, next back to trucks and home.

    Comments needed!

Some of the trip may be too short. Iceman, you said you love the Oranges (2ndary trails). Which do you recommend to add a few miles each day except the last day? Some of us like to go for a night ride loop before bed. Besides, this will be the last tour for this year as local NY trails are fading fast!

    Any problem with certain trails?

    Thanks, Jeff

PS. Since my 2011 GSXSE will have over 17000 miles, I am spring ordering a Blizzard.

  4. My friend and I drove 3 1/2 hours to Old Forge, NY. to "TEST RIDE A 2016 SLED" only to find out there were absolutely no 2016 sleds available to ride, only to look and sit on! Not one 2016 among all 4 sled makers.

    WHAT"S UP WITH THIS?

If I'm going to invest $11-13000 or more with a snow check, I sure as hell would like to try it out. Would you buy a new car or truck based on how it looked and how the seats felt?

    Jeff

  5. I hope it is not true but was told rumor has it that grooming will end this season on March 15th! Has anyone else heard this? We plan to tour Abitibi/Matagami area starting the 21st. Will have to cancel if not groomed and demand a refund of $75 from FMCQ for only being able to ride 3 months out of the four I paid to have trails groomed.

    Jeff

  6. I am 72 and selling my 2011 Skidoo GSXSE 1200 snowmobile. It is in very good condition and has been well maintained. Most of my riding was done on groomed trails in Quebec.

The engine is essentially a car engine (3 cylinder, 1200cc, fuel injected, four stroke) which develops 126 hp, gets about 16MPG, uses regular gas, no need to carry injection oil. Anyone that can change their car or truck oil can service this engine once per year.

My bright RED sled comes with a COMPLETE SHOP MANUAL ON DVD, new primary and secondary clutches, 2 sets of carbides, extra drive belt, lots of storage room (in oneup seat and pack bag), extra LED lights, custom airbrush paint of "The Abominable Snowman", tilt steering, heated hand, thumb, and seat heater, extra tall windshield with air deflectors, rebuildable and adjustable "clicker" shocks, air ride rear shock (you can adjust on the go), digital and analog gauges with many readouts like top speed, avg speed, mpg etc. It also comes with an extra programed key and handlebar gauntlets. I am installing new rear torsion springs next week. It has been setup for my weight 155 lbs. by installing 10-15 lb. softer springs. I will include the original springs and shocks.

This sled has been the most comfortable, reliable, and warmest sled I have owned. Although it has high mileage, the engine is just "broken in" if it was in a car, and most wearable parts have been replaced. I just got back from riding in Quebec. My sled started both mornings at 23 and 31 DEGREES BELOW ZERO F. It idled a lot and still got over 16 MPG!

You can test ride it before I go to Florida, April 1st. If you purchase it before then, you can ride in Quebec and NY on my trail passes.

I am asking $6900 You can text me or call 518-534-4380 or email MFARJM@hotmail.com

  7. Snows a coming!! Riding my Gator even at 44 mph still does not compare. Have been working on local snowmobile trails. Does anyone own a Delorme Inreach? The other day I was riding my Gator in the Adirondacs 21 mi. from anyone. No cell service either. Figured one of those might come in handy to text someone for gas rather than a long walk.

  8. I have over 13000 miles on my 2011- 1200 and no problems with the secondary. I did clean it once and moved the spring so it has less pressure and lowers the revs sooner., 6000 at 60 mph. I have replaced the ramps in the primary clutch 3 times. 2012 and newer have 6, mine has 3 so more wear. I can replace them in about 30 min. using the water method to remove clutch. Other than oil and filter change I haven't touched the engine. 1200 is in a GSX-SE and I average 15 to 17 mpg depending on the trail and my thumb.
