  1. Seems very few lodging options in town. Hotel Universal trail access? Last year, dark, arrived in town late, took a right just off the #23 trail that seemed to be marked for the Universal. Very narrow goat path into a residential housing area. Seemed to be a couple miles long, never made it to the Hotel Universal. Any intel from fellow riders? Thanks

  2. Yes, there is at least two gas stations in Barraute. One is very well marked with a sign and the other is a small station just off the trail, can see it just down the main road. This will save you having to go into town at Senneterre and then back track if heading West.

  3. Thanks for the updates in the region of Clova. You have a very nice little place for us to stay when passing through your area. It was very nice to meet you last winter. Clean, warm, great food, bar with pool table and a nice barn to put our sleds in at night. :drinks: Hope to see you again this season.

  4. I'm sure other folks will pipe in but I have found Sainte Marie can get beat up and rough in and out of town at the end of the day. Many towns are like this but it is nice to only hit it once at the end of the day. I think you would have a more enjoyable experience if you just park your truck and trailer in a secure area, along with some security pre-cautions, then saddle bag tour and stay at a different town each night. You can easily explore that region along with the eastern townships and up into the bay st-Laurent regions in a four day period. No need for super high mileage days to get a nice mix of trails and regions either, just nice comfortable miles in your comfort zone.

  5. Hey guys and girls,

just spoke to rob (skidoodeur guy) and he just got back from doing the lepine trail or the sentier du draveur and he did a bypass to get over the bridge being repared. At about km 35 the trail deviates towards the right for about 10 kms and rejoines the trail at km 45+- so that you can enjoy the rest of the journee. Because lets face it when you've taken the lepine trail its hard to beat. So you can count on a great trail all the way to club gatineau.

    snowwhite :clapping:

Thanks for updates in your area Tamarac. :good:

  6. X2 for what Mid Range mentioned. Also going to/from Amos for gas: Coming from Lebel-sur-Quevillion you can gas at Senneterre or skip it and head for Barraute for gas. Trail junction is just North outside of Senetterre and sleds can usually make it no problem on hard groomed trail. :good:

Forgot to mention between Chiboug and La Dore gas at the old sawmill, cash only I think. :)
