The Trade union of the producers of commercial cultures of the area of Lanaudière, Outaouais-Laurentides (SPCC) threat to set up a vast movement of boycotting of l' access of the paths of VHR and motoneiges. This means of pressure is at present with l' study and could be effective if the Financial agricultural one and the Québécois minister of l' Agriculture refuse to revise their decision with l' regard of measurements of tightening to the program insurance stabilization of the agricultural incomes (ASRA). L' ASRA is a program d' an major importance for the farmers puisqu' it guarantees an annual income Net with the companies. A compensation is versed when the average costs of sale d' a product is lower than the stabilized income. Measurements of tightening of the program will have as a consequence that only the most effective producers receive compensations. Several farmers fear the worst. “These measurements will have negative impacts and will be able only to put in danger good d' number; farms”, supports the president of the SPCC, Gilles Brisson. The Trade union is however well decided not to let itself make. “S' he is judged, such qu' expressed by the minister of l' Agriculture, Mr. Claude Béchard, that the budgets of Financial agricultural represent an open bar and qu' he is now necessary to put a term at it, whereas in several manufacturing sectors of l' Québécois agriculture, the situation goes from evil in worse, the open bar of l' access to the arable lands will be also thing of the past”, ensures Gilles Brisson.

Many thanks, Artcat900!
That track comes in from the north, from Chapais. It's a proven tack for getting there, but one would have the jaunt to get to Chibougammau (Chapais) to enjoy that track. Was hoping for a track from the south along the lines of the now infamous "placemat map" from Clova.
Would not want to have to ride up either thru Lebel or from La Dore to begin our excursion to Obedjiwan; but, if that's the only way to get there for the first run.......so be it.
We'll keep searching. Thanks again for the info.

I'm in the same boat as you....Still searching for gps tracks to do the southern route

Greetings Iceman
Thanks for the info. Sounds like a hoot of a trip. Kinda reminds me of a jaunt like the first time I rode from Manawan over Lac Kempt up to Kanawata right agter it had first opened. That was about 15 years ago when that was the end of the "world". Although that was not "staked" and it was at nite. If the ice portions on the Gouin are staked it would be sweet.
Did your brother in law believe that the non-ice sections were groomed more than once? Are they on bush roads or cross country from portage to portage?? It will be great if we can get the tracks that groomer sent to artcat900 and overlay them on Google Earth.
If they are taking tour groups from Europe up there with any regularity, the trail portions must be at least half decent for those pilgrim to traverse them on two-ups???
Any info you could get on potential "first grooming" would be super. Appreciate your help.

I have tried calling Shawn and Dianne at Lac Chateauvert several times now since the Quebec forest fire and have not gotten any answer on the phone. Does any body know how they made out? From what I can gather they were probably in the middle of that disaster.

I stayed at Motel Senabi 2/09. The town allows snowmobiles to ride the street. We had a nice breakfast at the pizza shop. Went to BRP down the street.
It is funny how weather can make a known place feel like a strange place. (your pics 5 & 6)
I like to travel with my GPS and way points for safty. You are brave to make your way travling on rivers.
Great story about the oil.
Small world.......In March we stopped at the same 2 places........pizza and gas

Just picked up a Nuvi 550 off of ebay for $219.00 Its waterproof and has a decent sized screen. Seems to be much the same as the Zumo 550 minus the cost, We will see how it does on the trail.
