Rode tuesday night from my house, epic I tell ya!!!!!!!!!!
You really got to get out more and ride with the men who ride

Which direction did you come from? We where hoping to Launcn from there on Tues out towards Repos, up to parent, chiboougamou back down the 355 any info would be great!
came down from lac eduard. pipe line is fine, more snow then when we left on tuesday out of grandmere. If I were you i would leave from north end of river go to lac eduard to jacksplace, take private trail over towards relay 22 then north, then local trail towards st felician to chibougamou. heard plowed road around wymotchie for along distance. Now you have to realize I rode out of st raymond on sat when most wouldn't

It has not snowed a flake here in the Saguenay.
sNOWED AROUND 2.5 FT, YES FEET IN ST PAUL, TRAILS ARE IMPASSABLE RIGHT NOW, OUT OF GAS AND HAD TO TURN AROUND
-
Can you describe the condition of the snow and trails in that area a bit. We did that last year and it was good but the snow obviously is less than stellar this year.
Around the towns it was getting thin and snirt but other than that it was fine. Around grand mere dirt and thin esp as well as st raymond

I know a few guys here were planning on riding Cains Quest..............looks like the race will be cancelled this year......rescheduled til March 2011........Bobler is gonna be pissed.......Lotta money raised and plans made for a lotta guys....
No money raised for our team, all self funded, lotta money and time spent, we were a new team that was flying under the radar with alot of prep and plans to shake up the regulars. 2011? at this point. Need to find a $$$$ sponsor to make it happen

Just did grand mere to clova to chib to jonquire to grandmere in 3 1/2 days, yes we were hauling the mail the whole way to get er done in that time frame

Thanks for the info Bobler. Is it a quicker way than going around the other way for sure? Is there enough slider lube? Would you recommend doing it again this weekend? Your info is very much appreciated. Thanks again
I am headed back up that way next week and will be taking 360 instead of the river. I had no studs and the wind was actually blowing me sideways a couple of times

(You are not at home)
You are destroying my culture
Trail Closing Possible
Please Stay on Trail!
I thought it meant land owner got pissed and trail is closed now. So we went around diff way a couple of times
-
Seen that sign in a couple of places, what does it actually translate too?
-
I rode up the river last week on the 11th, if was open all the way, alot of ice with very little snow cover on it
-
Kanawata is the name of the place. It is not a town, it is a lodge on Lac Manouane. The manager is Mario I will look tonight for a phone # and post back. Def. want to call ahead. Probably about 60 miles from Repos the way the trail runs this year.
How does it run this year? I tried following the old way last week and it ended at a plowed dirt road
-
The little bastards try to start your sled, they say if they get them started they take them out onto the lake till they run out of gas
-
Sounds great Coldsmoke. Are you team #4 ? God willing we will be in Labrador riding the same time frame.
Andy
Yes andy, he is part of TEAM 4 (INTERNATIONAL ADVENTURE)

Not sure they are the best but they are the one i use....In the best $60 I ever spend...
They are bolts on the front of the running boards and snapped under them when not in use. Work really well even on really hard base. Here pics of my buddy skid and mine on the same trail last spring
my buddy Nytro skid without scratchers (this guys bought a kit like mine after this ride)
and mine with scratchers
The only flaw is that no reverse is allowed with that... In my case, I want to have something that will do the job in very icy conditions and the flexible one won't scratch as strong as those one in very hard conditions like the conditions you get on a trip on the next day after rain when all get frozen and the groomers don't had work the trail yet... With that, you dropped them down and go... Cheap, effective, easy to install.... took them at Royal Distributing...
As for the reverse, I had made a flag that I was clipping on the reverse handle when I put them down on my old sled just to be sure to remind to raise them before puting in reverse... Had to do that on my new one....
Alain
Brand? link? where did you get those?
-
$1.21 are you sure! On line it has been showing about $1.05 for the last month or so.
You are looking at a post from a year ago LOL
-
You got issues..........it's gonna snow 2 feet in NH and you are gonna ride a bike? You gonna ride your 09 in Cains? I wish I could race that with ya......not in the budget.......Billy sponsoring you?
If it snows 2ft the race willl be postponed and I will be sledding, i will call you tomm possibly
-
I bring Bobler...........he carries a friggin roll away on his sled.....
Hey what color is your sled this year so I can get a color coordinated tow rope and add it to my supply, my yellow one didn't match your blue yam.
Seriously I will take a pic of the stuff I carry and you guys would be amazed what you can fix and how long I could survive out there if I had too.
-
Does your F8 have a battery? Xfire doesn't..........
There is a pigtail down under the hood but nobody seems to know if it is AC or DC.......how would I tell, ground one side to chassis? You ready to ride old man? Looks like next week may be maiden voyage, going to VT to shake out the Cat and see if I want it, next week, we ride..............
Throw it on your trailer and bring it by my shop, I will hook you up. I am ready to ride, but H/S on the 10th in NH so week after.
P.S. - I have put together team for cains and riding it this year
-
