Trailblazer is right. Ride north.
A place you could park your trailers, drop your sleds, eat and sleep upon arrival is in the municipality of Saint-Anne du lac. The place is RESTO-BAR RELAIS DU TOURISTE at 819 586-2020 and ask for Steve (Snowmobile club president)

here is the latest here at Reservoir Baskatong near by http://www.pointedavid.ca/
Last night we received a good hard pack 5 inches of snow. This morning around 10:30 am we had freezing rain for about an hour. Since 12:00 pm the wind has shifted north and now it is presently snowing. According to Mid Range, the groomers are going out tonight http://club-motoneiges-oursblancs.com/Condition.aspx?english. That'll be their second chase for the groomers and with the crazy cold forecast, the trails should be awesome after. The chase is better than the catch.

now at 10 mm rain, with +4C Sunday. Monday -26C, Tuesday -30C..... Wow this will put on a good hard base for our trails and we should be good to ride until May

Wonder if that clear cut was the area with the huge forest fire 4-5 yrs ago? I rode threw that burn the first winter after the fire. Spooky to say the least.

Mekoos was fully booked last Thursday night also. We couldn't get in so we tried the Comfort inn in Mont-Laurier. They were fully booked also! We got lucky with rooms at the Best Western Mont-Laurier. Don't know why Thursday was so busy everywhere.
Sometimes you can loop around and end-up here for a nice stay via R322 Baskatong Reservoir : http://www.pointedavid.ca/e_winter.html

Again was great riding with you Mid Range.
The Ours Blancs club (Maniwaki) has really changed their grooming philosophy...In years, I've never ridden such perfect trails (Local,TQ,R) on a Sunday. Hats off!
Great report, you bet.
Cool stuff, of course.

just a tad over 3000 miles + 2 full days of volunteer work with a chainsaw to clear 2 km of trees fallen in the R322 trail.
-
one had bearing issue at 4,500 miles
the other 2 were at 7,500 miles and 10,000 miles
also we did remove the bolt on mufflers cause they were rubbing against the cooling tank as well. These engine are good. It's everything surrounding that you must be careful of.
Hi Mid Range,
If I may add, the boost reference line is leaking at the throttle body as well (clutch side). All 3 x FST had a leak there which makes the turbo work harder and you loose HP as well.
As for the alternators, the 2 bearings can be replaced easily for the 2010 MY. As for the 2009 MY it is a bit more challenging. Words of our alternator technician in Maniwaki.
An excellent reference for all FST owners is: www.polarisfiles.com

Thx for the report. Nice pics.
