  1. We had some heavy rain yesterday but hopefully the trails are still decent.
  2. Got back from Europe celebrating christmas with the family a week ago and finally had the time to go for the first ride of the season. Oh boy was it fun! We have been blessed with the best start to the winter since I bought my snowmobile two years ago. Quebec City -> Donnaconna -> Portneuf -> St Raymond -> Quebec City. A total of around 230 km. Next up is a saddlebag trip to Saguenay in a few weeks!
  3. In Quebec City we have tons of snow already. Best winter so far in the three years I've lived here and another storm passing by tomorrow expected to drop another 30-35 cm of snow in the next two days.
  4. No traces of any grooming taking place in Quebec City yet from what I can see. Been cold for a while now and we have had decent snowfalls so far so I'm hoping for things to start to move soon. If the trails are open by new years when I come back from celebrating Christmas with my family back home in Europe I'll be more than happy.
  5. Wow that's a lot! I'm just south of Stoneham and we have 20-25cm on the ground. Weather forecast looks promising though. Cold weather and an additional 15-25cm of snow at the end of the week.
  6. That's great news and they definitely have enough space for it! I drive pass Four Points twice a day and i always get jealous in the winter when i see sleds parked in the middle of the week since I usually only ride on weekends.
  7. I drive pass Four Points Sheraton every day and there is barely any snow left on TQ3. The trails around here have been looking pretty sad in the last few weeks.
  8. I don't know anyone riding in that area unfortunately. It's been melting a lot in Quebec City in the last few days at least.
  9. We got hit by rain last night and there's a thin layer of ice on top of pretty much everything. Drove past a few trail crossings this morning on my way to work and it doesn't look too bad.
  10. That's why I prefer to stay of the blue trails. Green and orange are usually in much better shape even in the afternoon due to less traffic. Sunday we were riding excellent trails in the afternoon but as soon as we went on TQ3 to get back to Quebec City the moguls were present.
  11. Sunday we rode TQ3 west and took the local trail over to Saint Raymond. Conditions where excellent in the morning. We took TQ23 west from Saint Raymond and 365 south to Donnaconna. Excellent conditions on the parts with less traffic. From Donnaconna we took 302 back to TQ3 and went back to Quebec City. TQ3 was pretty beat up but not as bad as it was between QC and Mont Saint Anne saturday. Melting has begun but so far very little impact on the trails. It's still below zero during nights.
  12. Rode 304 -> TQ3 -> local connecting trail -> 369 to L'Étape and back today. 260km in total. TQ3 was decent early in the morning and completely obliterated in the afternoon when coming back 369 was amazing both ways
  13. Didn't take a whole lot of photos during today's trip. Quite a few people at L'Étape
  14. Iceman did you ride the local trail from Mont Sainte Anne to 369 earlier today? Can't be that many Yamaha's with golden shocks out there.
  15. Back from my trip to L'Étape with snowfarmer and his crew. The ride up there was absolutely amazing. The 369 was excellent but TQ3 was beyond terrible riding back from Mont Sainte Anne.
  16. No one will ever win in a car vs sled situation. Stay safe everyone!
  17. Archibald is a great place, great beer, food and company! Heading outside to warm up my sled and inspect my very own local trail to the 304.
  18. Last night's storm brought a ton of snow. Unfortunately it's getting warmer next week so this might very well be the last week of good riding in the Quebec City area. Heading out this weekend for two days of riding.
  19. Did 200km today on #3 eastbound. 30-40cm of fresh powder on the trails. Had an awesome day with my riding buddy. We met two groomers on the way back between Mont Sainte Anne and Charlesbourg. The 304 wasn't groomed when we got back. I think they do less maintenance on that trail nowadays since it's a cul de sac. And now it's snowing again wohoo.
  20. Figured I'll start a post to give updates on the conditions in and around Quebec City. Haven't been on the trails in two weeks now since we spent last weekend up in Saguenay. We got around 10cm of snow yesterday and another 30cm is in the forecast for tonight/tomorrow.
  21. Got 4-5 inches yesterday and 10-15 inches in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow. Taking a day off work tomorrow to go riding. Will get back with an update tomorrow night.
  22. So far today about 4-5 inches in Quebec City.
  23. We got about 5-8 inches of snow yesterday in Quebec City and it's been raining today and it turned back to snow two hours ago.
