Mike, unfortunately, I could not make the turkey day run, but they are both 800 extremes and as you can see a free ride, one of the extremes is Robs, I have stuck with the 1200 expedition but it is not in yet, ☹️ugh! , I will be taking a 900 renegade on this trip. RRRR, Would I be guessing right if I said you were on an Expedition Extreme 800???
Always enjoy your early jaunts.

There's nothing like the first sled pics of a new season! Hopefully we won't be trailering that far being a El Nino year.
Enjoy!
Looks some nice, all that powder.
mike
Yes Mikerider and jack straw, we are heading back up this weekend, will have a few more pics to share than, Think snow☃

Hello everyone, the season is starting in northeastern Quebec , Early Rider from Team Maine Racing found some snow last weekend northeast of Sept Isle, a long drive for sure to get there but the boys found some snow between there and Gabriel to break in those 2016 sleds. Thought everyone might enjoy seeing some fresh pics Think snow, With snow out west, hope it comes everywhere soon!

Sounds like you had an awesome trip, You guys will be talking about this for years to come. Thank you for sharing the facts on the hydro facility, very interesting.

Enjoy those Trails Mikerider RR

Jean Guy Just checking in, Looks like your trails are filling in nicely, Great pictures as always, Cheers to you and a great season! Best regards RR

Nshm, you can hook the light into your hi beam switch or turn off as you approach other sleds as the light is bright, Don't think the light is rollover proof, hope not to have to report back on that question lol, we will let other members experiment with that test! RR

Have a great trip Mike and enjoy that vin rouge after the ride LOL . We had the new rooms over the spa last weekend, Very nice rooms. RR

Hey RR,
Are those auxiliary lights on the front of the skidoos?
NSHM
Yes it is a 10" Rigid led spot and flood combo does a nice job drowns out the headlight! RR

Mike you won't be disappointed good trails in both chaudierre and bas St laurent
-
Trails today were great from Jackman to riv du loop. The last 5 miles to the border on us side were rough and low snow cover until st Zachary on 545 but very passable. After that it is great going all the way. Lots of sled traffic today.
-
Just got today's report from friends riding chandler re and bas St laurent. They left st pamphile this morning running 55 35 526 5 to rdl down 85 to cabano. Reported all groomed and excellent going best regards RR
Meant to say chaudierre and bas St laurent all good going other than boney near st george.
-
Heard from two friends last night that rode from Jackman to St pamphlet yesterday. Trail 75 in around st George was boney but passable 55 from Beauceville to St Pamphlet was in great shape. We are headed in that direction friday but will take the 545 trail from St theophile to St justine.Hope to have a first hand report for jackman to riv du loop than .R R

FMCQ has been reporting this area as green and open for the past week. I would imagine this would be one of the areas that has hope for riding.
I plan to head to RDL in about 10 days.
Shane, hope something works out for you, you must be getting antsy to try that new Doo!
mike
Mike and Shane, we are heading out of Jackman Me. on friday morning with the intention of riding to RDL and that area for the weekend and back on Sunday. I agree with Mike it looks as if most of the areas are open with acceptable to good conditions in the south eastern side of Appalachia Chaudierre ( the trails along the Maine border) and most Bas St Laurent areas. I am sure there will be some icy spots and brook and stream crossings that may be icy and rough but we intend to give it a try. Will keep you posted. Best regards RR
Will keep you posted

Sounds like a great time. Great Pictures!!1
Thinking out loud about the 800 ETech, I wonder if switching to regular gas instead of premium would make it run hotter and cure the plug problem.
mike
Mike we have not had any more issues with the plugs, we ran the sled today with the stock plugs RR

Gutz, There is not enough snow in the valley to ride, better plan to trailer to The auberge, valinette or Onatchaway for decent riding, enjoy
RR
Hey Guys,
Do you know if you can ride from the Delta to Mt Valin yet?
Going to be there soon enough.
Thanks

The earthern dam that forms the Pipmuacan reservoir is 4200 feet long and 250 feet high. This was the first hydro project for Quebec hydro built in 1953. The generator station at Labrieville is where the actual power is generated and is supplied via a penstock tunnel through the mountains. Neat trip today Enjoy RR

The riding continues, a few mechanical breakdowns, stud through heat exchanger, 600 etec seize up on us today in one of the expeditons, , and a rock strike damage has kept us busy but we are approaching 1000 miles so far. We met some friends from Labrador today that had come down for a ride. Another nice 200 mile day. The etec 800 has been sitting since the spark plug issue, just because we have been using the expeditions. We will probably get some more miles on that one in the days to come, will keep you posted if we have anymore issues on that one.
More bush road riding
And some big road riding, a good variety today with lunch at Onatchaway
-
Roadrunner what year sled are you having plug issues with? We just bought new 2015 800 etecs. Should we be concerned?
wulsock
We have not had any further issues but did pick up some hotter plugs just in case RR
-
Do the plugs foul while riding or when warming up the sled before you start a ride ?? Thanks again can't wait to get on the snow again!!
Pipeman they were fouling while we were making a slow trip out of the woods, once it got back out onto faster conditions it came out of it, Th eplugs may May be marginally too cool RR
-
Hi RR, Nothing short of incredible!!!
mike
Mike, great to hear from you, sure does feel good to be back on the snow
We went down 93 to the saw mill at sacre coure yesterday morning, plenty of snow until the last three miles in, it got very skinny than. Would be tough ride from the mill to the village. Otherwise all very good going, a few places some of the exposed hi elevation areas that get blown free anyway, you will click a rock. I bet your are anxious to get out. Hope to see you this winter RR
Here are a few more pics form yesterday
Low snow in Sacre Coure
Some nice backroad running
A few sleds at Auberge yesterday!

Great info and pics ! Any issues with plugs on the 800etec? Heard BRP switched to a colder plug and some were fouling on them.
Pipeman, yes we are having issues with the plugs, having a set of the hotter plugs coming up today
Nice!
Like the LED
Action Jack, the Rigid led spoils you at night, really like it shoots out a really nice beam

Any Snow Yet?

Pipeman, as the snow map reveals, the snow extends for hundreds of miles from 100 miles north of Baie Comeau up to and beyond Sept Isle and beyond into Labrador. The big issue is the rivers and large lakes are not safe yet so you get more limited, and there is no trail network so you do have to do your own navigating. Still fun to get out and get that first ride in. RR
